Morning all another new week and I'm still doing well. Nice round of golf yesterday didn't play great but ok and I'm signed up for next Saturday too. DH played with his dad and will play in the rescheduled Captains Day. Tried my new food processor out made a Victoria sponge, ok but ended up quite large not good for the diet. Nice to have his dad round afterwards too he's been down 3 times this week so done quite well he has.
Still no alcohol, I have been drinking 0.9% shandy (ready made) and DH has been drinking 25p bitter he had about 5 over the whole day a bit much I think. Will order some of the 0.5 % ones from the web.
No gambling and even turned down a MS one that would have involved playing a fruit machine. Too tempting.
Working from home today and boss is back so really need to get some work done. Been a bit slack this week. Got a workout with Darren at 5pm and need to pop into town to order the gold pendant my sister and I are having made out of my parents wedding rings and my grandparents wedding rings.
Also got a MS that will pay for lunch while I'm there.
So all in all good last week hopefully it will carry on this week too.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Gold rings not going to be made into pendants by that shop they want £100 to melt the gold and £80 to make up the pendants. They told us £80 for the lot when we asked originally. Might workmates paid £40 up North to have two rings made out of one ring will ask her. Also might try to ask a jewellers in the town hq is in a that's where I am tonight.
Still doing fine with the no drinking nada pint of larger shandy last night with dinner in a pub but the girl did them as a straight larger gosh it was awfull. DH was doing well until I discovered three empty bottles of Speckled HEn I knew he had bought them but I had taken them out of the fridge. To be fair I think he had one saa shandy but he should not have had the other two. I'm away tonight so fingers crossed.
I'm going out for dinner tonight with two friends from work one whom I have not seem for 6 months. I shall try not to haves glass of wine. It's doing wonders for my diet so that's a good motivation.
Anyway must gt up going to North London then off to HQ back tomorrow but must get some work out time. Didn't get back in time for Zumba last night.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Thanks for
the support unfortunately came home tonight to find an empty bottle of white wine in the recycling bin and a new botle in the fridge. I am so disappointed. He can see it was wrong and I have told him off big time.
I have been good though.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Yes will be doing that, last night was fine so all good again.
Off to East Sussex today and the weather is awful. Stood on the scales this morning 13.4 that's 3 lb off since the holiday. Not bad.
Playing golf Saturday not sure I will play to night might go to the gym instead. Only been twice this week but can do Zumba Sunday as not golfing.
Well best get on with it bring on Friday evening.Save £12k in 25 No 49

TG, I hope you don't mind me saying this, but I think you need to get professional advice about how your OH should stop drinking. If he has been drinking heavily for decades, it means that he is addicted to alcohol and I don't think it will be possible for him to stop drinking just like that. Just like any drug, I think he needs to stop drinking gradually, but I don't have any experience of this, and it is just what I think so I might be completely wrong.0

Have you thought about AA? Not saying he is an alcoholic but he clearly has a problem with alcohol and the meetings really help.0

Thank you very much for the comments I really do appreciate them. The doctor has offered him help to stop but I think he is actually doing ok. He is not totally stopped he has 2 low alcohol beers 2% and maybe 1 glass of low alcohol wine 5%. We are seeing the doctor again in a couple of weeks I've for the results of th last blood test and will see what she says. If he has to give up 100% we will do that but last time she said he can continue to drink but it will take a lot longer. Not sure if what he has is too much. One step at a time this reduction is quite a lot for him and he seems fine no massive effects and he is a much nicer person too.
On the money saving front I'm away with work just about to head off to the plush gym. Been so go going all last week and will be too this week. Going out for a meal tonight with work mates will be so nice and free of course.
Ordered a vest for my mum (she's paying) got 5% cash back so thats not bad.
Been very good with quidco check ins lately if I'm early for appointment I sit on a bench and try to log in. My appointments are usually in city centres and often in shopping centres.
Anyway must get off to the gym as I need to leave here at 6.30.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I'm glad you took our comments in the caring manner they were intended. A family member's drinking was so bad they gave up completely but after two years they are now able to have one sociable drink and then decline offers of another round or refill. Since this is your diary then I'd also add that I can understand the position you are in and please if the strain of living with someone cutting down is getting to you, that's both normal and it's good for you to talk too.;)MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0
