Maybe 2012 should be MY Year

Hello All
Well I have been on MSE for nearly 3 years (lurking) and started a diary in 2010 which I didn't really keep up to date with so have decided to start a new one for 2012.:o
I have been inspired by people like Knitting Nora, Hypno, Lemon Tree and ZTD. Reading their diaries has made me realise we are not alone in this world with all the problems we have to face both financially and otherwise.:)
In previous years I have been on the Giving up alcohol thread and remember Jo and Miss Piggy as well as a few others.
Some of you will already know my situation, I am separated but still live in the same house as my XOH (not great but needs must in the current climate). I am on a DMP which will be in its 3rd year come September ( I was foolish and did year one with a paying company but learnt the error of my ways;)). There was a lot of debt, all in my name but not all mine but I am slowly getting there with paying it off.
Four years ago I had a fairly major breakdown and was off work for 9 months, I returned but had another less severe and had a further 6 months off.:( I was lucky that work kept my job open ( but the job had also contributed to my BD). Still after a lot of help and CBT I am now back full time with all that entails.
I have a BF who lives a distance away and he has his own problems, my DD had my DGS last year and he is my real pride and joy. I have a few very close friends who I would do anything for, 2 or 3 live great distances away but one of the things I intend to do this year is to get to see them.
So what do i intend to do to make 2012 my year? Good question:rotfl:
Maybe its an age thing;) or reading the diaries on here especially Hypno (because I'm B****Y well worth it) , which has made me realise I have spent most of my life trying to please others and make them happy. Well I would still like to do that but also make sure that I AM HAPPY TO.
I have decided this morning to join the sealed pot challenge (been lurking for too many years) and will look at other challenges as time goes on. I would love to lose weight as I have piled on the pounds over the past few years but having tried W* and S*they are not for me so will need to sort that out for myself.
Well if you have read this far congratulations and Thank you and I wish everyone a VERY HAPPY 2012.

OK Diary
Here we are four days since the first post and what have I done...mmmm
Well to be fair I did go back to work on Tuesday and it has been manic, and I mean manic leaving the house at 6am and not getting home
until 8pm.:(
One thing I have done is to start reading again, yes that means reading a book. One of my friends has lent me Eat,Pray, Love. I have seen little bits of the film with Julia Roberts but have decided to read the book before I look at the film again.:)
I am about a quarter of the way through and it has made me start to think about how I live my life. My friends tell me that my biggest problem is I don't know how to say NO to others which in some ways is true but it is not in my nature to turn away from people who I want to help.
Anyway I can see I am getting too philosophical for my own good so how can I help myself in other ways to make this my year.
Tomorrow I need to check out my car Insurance , due next week , and I will sort out the spreadsheet for the next few months, Sunday I will batch cook oh and rest up (which is another way of saying I will catch up with MSE lol).
Hope everyone is enjoying their New Year, will catch up over the weekend

Well yesterday I posted on the holiday forum and I am very grateful to all the lovely people who took time to reply to my question.:A
Met my friend for coffee today but as I had a really bad night ended up going back to bed this afternoon.
Had bought a load of work home this weekend and have not really done any, think I need to have a chat with the boss tomorrow about workload and lack of people to do it:eek:
I don't know where the weekends seem to go just lately, have spent a lot of time on the pc this weekend with one thing and another, spreadsheets looking for holiday ideas, money saving things to do.
Hope all have a good week
love

Oh Dear
Logged on and realised another week has passed, where does the time go:eek:
Ok so this week we had the works Xmas party which I actually enjoyed more than I thought i would and it didn't cost too much as taxi was reimbursed to take me back to the station to get home.
Due to other events at home I now have a cost of between £100.00-£200.00 for a new window but that's a long story I wont bore you with.
Needless to say I have had to put thoughts of a holiday on back burner for a few weeks whilst I decide if I can afford it:(
Anyway I have promised my self that I WILL get the house into a manageable state (have been catching up on the messies forum etc ) so I must stop procrastinating and get on.
Have a good weekend all

Well Diary it has been a while.
To be truthful I should have been posting regularly as I have been unwell and off sick for nearly 3 weeks:eek:
Instead I have been watching a lot of daytime tv....dire and reading lots of other diaries trying to glean information and gain inspiration.
Have barely seen a soul recently, apart the nurses who came in daily(now finished) and my best friend who came to visit at the weekend. Oh and STBE (soon to be ex) who has actually been quite good.
One thing being ill has made me do is my very first internet shop(how sad am I lol). It was actually very good and something I will consider for the future although I do like to go round the shop and see what I am buying. This week I will go shopping as I need to get out and about to get back to normal.
One of the threads I have been interested in is the de-clutter 2012, it has made me realise how untidy the house is and that if I start one room at a time I might get somewhere.
Its Payday tomorrow and I need to get back into the swing of things, have not felt like cooking much and had take aways etc which is not very mse!!!
Right Im off to to read a few more diaries and who knows maybe even attempt some HW (although not dusting or hoovering as that sets my chest off)

Crikey have just noticed how long it is since I last posted in my diary  guess I have been too busy checking out everyone else.:o
Since my last post not a great deal has changed, I am still off work although will be going back on phased return towards the end of the month. GP has agreed to let me have meds I have been requesting for some time which will help out in the long run.:j
One good thing to come out of my enforced leave is I have been keeping up with loads on MSE, and have started doing surveys.
In fact so many surveys I am losing count, just hope all the points make some prizes soon
I have also put in my first PPI claim and I'm in the process of sending some letters for others.
And made some new friends which has been great , hello Mrs P, and Jackie O and Iliona.:hello:
Today I actually got off my butt, cleaned out the fridge, freezers and cupboards and made list of everything I have got , so hopefully will need far less shopping than I thought.:D
Tonight I am going to chill out, maybe do a little knitting and a glass of wine :shhh: but will try to make sure I post more regularly.

Well today has not been as productive as yesterday but have done a few bits, cleaning the lounge , finishing the shredding and made dinner.
Mind you now the lounge is clean and tidy it makes the dining room look dirty:rotfl:
Still I'm going to take the advice I received from a poster of a thread I started in OS and relax a bit tonight.
Had call from BF today, hope I manage to get to see him soon, it has been nearly 6 weeks:(
Also hoping weather is as nice tomorrow as it has been today as I might try and sit in the garden and read for a while. Need to do some baking to use up some bits and pieces will check out some cheap and cheerful recipes.Actually just thought I have some oats to use and as I love Flapjacks they could well be on the list :j
Even though I'm still off need to log on to work tomorrow to let them know I have sent in new certificate.
Another thing I should do is put up an SOA on here but it doesn't really work for me as I'm on a DMP so will need to think about it
Right off to chill will no doubt be back later
