MOOLOO'S continuing saga Part 4

Floss, she is now 4! The time is going fast (ish).! She has lived with me permanantly now for over 2 years! Mind you if you had asked me in the beginning I wouldnt have thought it possible. See what challenges we rise to if we have too!
Time to dress and do the school run. Need to defrost the car. BF said it was -4 when he went to work.
I should have known, my niece just turned 3 and she arrived after DGD came to you0 -

Dont worry, the good side to it is that by september she will be in school, and I will be able to rest in the daytime as my health dictates.
I have managed to get to the sewing machine this morning, after the school run, and filling up the car with petrol. £53! and now I really do know that the car needs servicing as she is only doing 335 to the tank, when it used to be 400miles when i bought her.
Time to save like the clappers for that. How many times have I said that.?
Did manage to make 3 purses today, and one of the squares for a patchworkathon started. (Have to broaden my sewing skills somehow).
Gave in to Twin1 again about money for the bus to sign on!
Sent across £10 last night and then this morning she said that the bank had taken out £6 so she needed another £6 to be able to get her money out! ARGGGGGhh.
KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON!!
I shall be taking £16 back on Thursday. (Even if it is only to end up lending it back the following week!).

Well I am exhausted. Been a long day.
Just spent the evening opening and sorting out post that had been sent to the cottage. I collected it on Saturday, when I went to collect my fabric. It appears that the Council are still sending paperwork to the old address, for the fostering department. Also the fostering network, and a request form the council about my income for the application for the DLA which I never got. etc.
Also a huge pile of paperwork for DS. He asked me to open it and sort it.!
EEK, because he has been a rather stupid boy, and he has run up debts of around £1,500. just short. I am staggered. He hasnt even changed his address with the bank, where a lot of this post has been generated. It seems that a lot of these debts have had charges upon charges added on to them, so perhaps the actual amount he would have owed would have been a lot less if things had been dealt with.
The next problem is the charges and fines for not having sorn, his moped. (That if you remember was stolen from his lovely family in Oxford- who also had taken his logbook). So it seems that nobody bothered to tax or re register the bike, and meanwhile DS has been billed and fined.
This means that there will have to be a lot telephone calls, and a lot of working out of his benefits etc and see if they will take minimum payments etc. There is absolutely no way that I can help him. I do not even have enough money in my account until tomorrow to get my own electric top up done! I think we all need a financial shake up!
I must not panic, it is not my debt it is his!
Twin2 actually gave me back £10 that she had borrowed last week or was it the week before. So thats a bonus. (She gave it to me tonight when I collected Twin1 for her visit to see DGD).
I have managed just to do some sewing. But my arm is very bad, and the headaches are back. I made a small tote bag, in a paisley corded fabric, and I did a little more sewing on a bag made out of mens ties I had started last spring! I also lined/nearly finished lining a jeans bag. But my hand wouldnt do anything else so I had to stop.
I did get to go to sleep/rest for a little while in the afternoon while DGD was being cared for. Which did help. But now I am done for.
I shall be off to bed soon, but just going to have a cuppa, a heat pad and watch some trashy TV with my daughter. Tomorrow is councilling and also twin2 is coming back with me so I will have company tomorrow as well. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

He's certainly in a total mess, but isn't it his responsibility to sort it out? He makes the phone calls, works out his benefits, sorts out a payment plan? That way he will hopefully learn how he gets himself into financial chaos and how to get himself out of it.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I can't beleive this is still going on! :wall:
Has the SG report been submitted to court yet? What is in the support plan?
From what I hear about DGD - her behaviour is perfectly normal for her age - mischevious, bright, cheeky, messy, caring and loving. She is going to love school.
As for DS - he needs some support and guidance but the main negotiating will need to be done by him. Send him to the DFW Board - he'll be inundated with help and advice over there.
Take Care xMama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -
I agree that your son needs to take responsibility for this Mooloo, he needs to experience this first hand. That is the only way he will learn from this rather harsh lesson, I'm afraid.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0

Well this morning I took over the paperwork for DS. We sat down on the telephone, and we/I negotiated the minimum payments that each of the creditors would accept. We have worked out a budget for the two of them in the flat, and will finalise the details on Friday. He was serious. He did work with me, but he is not very good on the phone, or with facts and figures. However he did set up a budget (his own idea) on the computer. He realises that it will take up to 4 years to clear some of these debts. But at least he is willing to be proactive and we have halted any further action.
He has to change his address in writing to one of the companies, and visit the bank. But all in all a very successful morning. Its amazing how the phone companies tried it on. (Most of the debt is from cancelling his contract! they get you every way they can!). They insisted that he had to pay £440 of a debt immediately or else. I said well you cannot have what he hasnt got, and I certainly dont have it.! They finally settled for £13 a month. See telling them that they are not going to get anything if it goes to court as the courts would say that he doesnt have enough to live on, and they would give them if they were lucky a nominal £1 a month soon had them changing thier ideas. Anyway hopefully DS will keep up his payments. Orelse it will all be back to square one.
Twin1 has still got her daughter (DGD) on her housing claim by default, and I talked to them today. That has to be put in writing that DGD is actually with me. Now I do know that that was done, as I was there when it was done, but its faster to just write a letter and get Twin1 to sign it.! It will not affect her claim as she doesnt get any extra funds then those they know about anyway. phew.
Re the Guardianship. Gizmo, it is rediculous.
We have applied to the court, but as yet I do not have any further information from the solicitors, but the council are yet to present thier reports as far as I am aware. We are at Fostering Panel next Wednesday. The support plan basically is a bit of a wash out, it just says I am to refer to the Adoption and fostering team if I have any problems and that they will support the funding- minus the child benefit for 2 years. Then I will be means tested annually after that to see if they will support me, but they have said that I must be aware that financial support may well cease by the end fo the two years.
Will be a busy day for me, as I have that then I have an appointment at the bank in town at 12.30 followed by the councillor at 1pm.! What a day. My wednesdays seem to be full up all the time at the moment.
Twin2 has come home with me for the rest of today. One extra mouth to feed, but childcare help. They are doing a puzzle together at the moment, and been playing on the wii that I borrowed off of Biggest of Mooloo's.
I am about to go and have a rest as my arm is playing me up, after all the driving and being active all day. (Typing letters etc on here too). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Evening, I had a rough night, and a bit of a wobbly morning, so I had to get Biggest of Mooloo's to take me to the hospital for my appointment., I couldnt have driven that far. The appointment was just to confirm really that they will send me to have a new scan, the last was actually in 2007, and not on the computer anymore apparantly.
This afternoon the house was a little full. But it was lovely to see DGD2 as well. Twin2 is stopping another day, and we are going to see the boys tomorrow morning. Then I am going to see my Dad. he said that he got on OK at the hospital, and he was soon back home. No bother.
I have blown the budget a bit this week, some how. I had to get Electric today, and give my daughter some petrol money, of course. She was on a red light. Bless her. She was also very tired today. She didnt have a good night. It appears a lot of us didnt sleep very well last night.
We have decided to sell of one of my older sewing machines, a wedding dress and a few other things that I have and put the money into the Wedding fund for my daughters wedding next year. That way I am contributing, but not putting my hand in my pockets. It will also get rid of some of the clutter that i have.
Still feeling more positive then last year. Time to have my tea. Then a relaxed evening. I havent managed any sewing today. So maybe I will get some patches sewn together while watching the TV.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
He did work with me, but he is not very good on the phone, or with facts and figures.
"Hello, my name is Fred, and I've seen your advert for a ... How would I apply?" for example. Before they made the call, I'd say "What do you think they'll say to that?" And "What are they going to want to know? Do you have that information handy?"
They still sound a bit tentative (well DS1 and DS2 do, anyway!), and I know DS1 doesn't answer the phone at work if he can avoid it, but at least they can USE the phone.
But good on him for starting to sort it out with you, hopefully he'll change his address more promptly in future!Signature removed for peace of mind0
