DGD is driving me nuts. We have cleaned up her toys, and the downstairs is nearly done, and she is going on and on about the party later. Its not for another two hours. But since she has been going on and on about it since 3.3- this morning, I really feel close to hyperthetical murder!. Argggghhhhh
With things like that, I'd tend to set a time and say "We're not going to talk about the party until after ... the timer goes off / we've had lunch / we've cleared up / it's morning",

Learned this when DS1 just went on and on and on and ON about what he wanted for his next birthday party, starting just after DS3's party. That's from March to July. So we had a deal: "I won't forget about your party, but we won't talk about it until after MY birthday party." Then if he went off again, I'd say "Well, we need to think about my party first, and what I'd like is ...

We had lots of "I will do X when I have finished my cup of tea." I drink cold tea even now ...

I understand why you want to adhere to BF's wishes about not being talked about on here but my worry is where else will you go when you need support? And if he doesn't read it why is he worried anyway? As you say none of us know who he is and most of us only know you through this thread.

Maybe he thinks that we encouraged you to break up with him?

Glad DGD is excited about her party later but I would have wanted to commit murder just for being woken at 3.30am anyway :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I hope Molly has had a good week away and has returned refreshed :D

To be frank, if you care for him as much as you say you do and you want the best for him then I do feel you should respect his wishes. Nobody likes to be talked about behind their back, and to do it on a forum for strangers and - yes - voyeurs to read is something that would make many partners feel unhappy and uncomfortable with and some would feel violated.
He knows your username, knows you write about everything in your life, so it's up to you whether you feel he reads what you write, or not. It would take great stength of character for someone not to take an occasional look at their partner's intimate thoughts about them which are written for the world and its dog to read.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I see it from both sides of course. However I am going to try and reduce, and stop involving that side of my life if I can! Not an easy feat though.

Today has been a quiet day, if a challenging one with DGD. She has decided that writing on the walls is the new in thing! And this evening not 30 minutes ago, I have just caught her drawing on the bedroom door,! and alas the door was only primed, so its not going ot wash off. At least it will force me to get the door painted properly. But the sitting room walls? It didnt wash off, it took the paint with it. So now i will need to redecorate! Something that I had not budgeted for. Living with her drawings will I fear encourage her to do more!
Well if its not one thing, its another.!

    I shall survive!
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Has your Granddaughter got behavioural problems? I looked after my DGS and DGD together - sixteen months between them - aged from three months until school age. I don't remember them being difficult - I was aged in my mid fifties.

No she doesn't have behavioural difficulties - she is as bright as a button and very creative!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

No she hasn't got behavioural difficulties!! She sounds like a normal lively little girl - just like my own 2 of similar age!!

Perhaps you have forgotten the difficult days and you were able to give them back everyday!!

    Morning,
DGD is very clever, the school tell me, as do others. I have brought up 4 children, and 2 with behaviour problems. No this is just high jinks. She is as Molly said, creative! Alas the walls are a blank canvas for that creativity. I think it is just trying my patience as it was twice in one day, on a day when I am in a lot of pain. That always makes it worse.
I shall just have to scour the bedroom and sitting room for the crayons, and make sure that they are less accessable, unless we are going to do art together.! (Least I can see an improvement in her version of drawing people?:rotfl::().

Today she is back to Nursery, and now that Molly's daughter is feeling better she will be around to help for a few hours today. This will allow me to do my jobs without turning my back on her. I am aiming to try to do some sewing this morning, to keep in the routine from last week.

As they say, a new dawn, a new day.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Mooloo has 24/7 care of her grandaughter, not day-time care while parents are at work, so she gets the full range of 3-year old life from angelic to little horror....and I can well remember my DS1 at a similar age blaming his younger brother for drawing on the wall at a height that DS2 could not reach, so no I wouldn't consider that Moolo's DGD has "behavioural problems".

Floss, she is now 4! The time is going fast (ish).! She has lived with me permanantly now for over 2 years! Mind you if you had asked me in the beginning I wouldnt have thought it possible. See what challenges we rise to if we have too!
Time to dress and do the school run. Need to defrost the car. BF said it was -4 when he went to work.
