Morning, cake making wasnt too bad
Was successful on take 2, ended up buying readymade cakes as didnt have enough time to wait to cook, cool and ice, Good thing I bought 2 as first one tried to make own icing and that didnt work (well slight understatement, super runny :rotfl:). So ended up with ready made icing and managed to work out how to mix colours, my moulding skills not too bad a lot of improvement needed, also this involved OH making an emergency supermarket run at 11 pm for more icing, but if you want a laugh here is the end result, p.s. its meant to be a brum cake!Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

Morning world
Bounds all all excited and full of nerves :j I have decided to get the horse, eek
After much thinking over the weekend and bouncing finances back and forth have decided to go for the plunge. It is going to be very hard on the finances but I think will be ok, if worse comes to worse will have to sell her or loan her but that will be last resort. Will get a decent photo of her soon
Finances are going to be tight, especially if OH is made redundant and we need to get another car but will overcome these things if they happen. Already decided there is still so much more of my house tatthat can be sold, managed to get more listed last night. A few more bits sold yesterday so a few more pennies to add to the pot.
Mortgage went out today so another £750 of the total. Min payment for target card out today and 2 overpayments from budget surplus from joint and current account so £86 sent to card, new balance at £2209.77 so getting there, cant wait till under £2k
I still want to keep going on my DFW journey as this will save me so much money per month and will be able to keep the horse without too much worry, if so this is even more of an incentive to get debt free quicker.

I saw the picture of the foal this morning and forgot to post. He is so lovely [he's a miniature Captain] He's all legs, bless!
I'm pleased you're taking on the yearling. It'll be the most amazing experience for you, you won't regret it.

Morning, Piq thanks for the message, had a few doubts (well a lot) like am I doing the right thing, can I cope financially, can I cope with a youngster, but have managed to allay my fears. Have a trainer in place to come down shortly to give me a programme to work with her, not too expensive either so that is really helping.
Moneywise will still be stupidly tight but am determined to get there. So want to get rid of these debts as soon as possible, the cards are costing me £200 a month in minimum payments so a huge amount to be able to save after these have gone. Parents loan and sofas are another £180 on top of this. They will be gone. My target is to clear the cards, going full out still on CC2. Made a slight mess the other day and sent a payment to CC1 instead, but as this is also a interest bearing card not as bad as could be, its all a reduction at the end of the day.
Another few survey sites payment and ebay sales have landed so waiting for that to come through paypal. A little bit more to chip of the debt.
Nothing exciting happening today, loads of work, lunch bought in, daily clicks done, surveys done and food ready for dinner tonight.:)Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

I have read through your diary and am excited for you getting another horse.
A long time ago I boughtv a horse (first time in my life all the others were loaned!) 4 months later he had to be put down and the insurance didn't pay out leaving me with £2000 vets bill and no horse money either. I loaned another horse and dsaved hard and eventually via a friend who had recently turned horse finder got my boy. So many times people have told me to get rid of my horse and have the money every month instead but you can't put a price on the joy and love I feel from having my own.
I wish you all the best, very exciting.
ps love the cake and the foalie pics:T0 -
LAM thanks for your comments on the cake, I am currently eating cake as have loads from attempt 1
Lucielle thank you will put picture of new neddy up soon
Inthegreen thanks for dropping by, so sorry to hear about your first horse, fab the second one worked out. I know exactly how you feel its really hard taking on another one financially but would get rid of so much more before I sell her if things got too tough.
Moneywise a NSD today as last few days spent out on paying for the hoss and getting lunch! So organised today and lunch bought in, babysitting at sis so free meal tonight
Updated my signature and tallied up all figures, not completely end of month as parents loan not gone out yet but have managed so far from 28 March paid of a net total of £368.27 of the cards and sofasSo really pleased with this, it means overpayments of over £150 this month. Just need to keep going. The total excluding mortgage is still though £19,006.43  My latest lot of paypal money should be hitting the bank soon and it will bring it under £19k, so next target under £18k. Still a long way to go so in here for the long haul but am so determined to get there. These cards really do need to go
