Morning
Horses again this morning, still no foal!!!! Was skipping out mare last night and she had buried a load of poos so ended up mucking out the whole stable, as she was on deep litter, 4 wheelbarrows and a bale of straw later, decided it wasnt a good idea as planned. Then went home and decided as it was dry and wasnt hungry yet to go and mow the lawn, slept well last night :rotfl:
Thanks Marteebies for the links on most of the survey sites already, but not my survey friends so have added that to the ever growing list!!
Nothing exciting today, lunch brought in so will be a NSD.Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

She's certainly hanging onto that foal! You must have quite some muscle building up now with all the mucking out and chucking bales around!
I'm stuck at home waiting for a courier, so no horsey fix for me today...

Morning, a foal this morning :j Unfortuately wasnt there to see it and not down now till saturday but pictures will be taken then.
Possible other equine news, am in a quandry, I hate making decisions. One of the yearlings was due to go but owner to be cant take her anymore so she has been offered to me
It would be a BIG committment, she is just one and very nervous so would need a LOT of handling, breaking in and TLC. She is currently about 14hh and would make about 15.1. She is very sweet and calm nature so just right for me. Up front cost of buying her isnt much at all, £400 so could use some of house savings for this. If I keep her where she is wont be charged livery as help out current owners so would just need to pay for feed etc, not too much at the moment, I could cover it. Ideally I would like to move her to a different yard before the winter, so October/November time this would mean a cost of approx £180 a month in livery so need to factor this into account too. I am very excited about the thought as would be a real challenge for me and a lifetime committment but something I am quite keen on
I spoke to OH last night re money etc. He still hasnt been offically confirmed about his redundancy details so there is possibility he could stay for longer in current role, who knows, watch this space. We also discussed working and he is quite happy to do any sort of temp work until he finds a new role so that has eased the pressure a bit. We also talked about new car and were discussing lots of options so feel a bit renewed and able to move forwards with a clear head.
OH does have some shares in an old company, we need to find out the details of these somewhere, we may not have all the paperwork but we are going to see what we can do. If we can get these shares we would be able to wipe all our debts clear and just be left with the mortgage so this is a top priority, but not getting too excited just yet in case it doesnt materialise.
Also we have picked up some more work for the company I work for, so hoping to speak to MD about possible payrise, I have been working well over and above my current role so going to approach and see what I can come up with.
If I do decide to get horse it will be breaking my goal of being debt free before cards are paid, but I intend to still fully focus on this goal want to be rid of these debts. And if I decide to take on horse and move her before winter I would need the extra pennies so am giving myself a new goal. I want to pay of CC2 (current target card) and CC3 by then so a total of just over £3.5k to find  No idea how I am going to do it but hey I like a challenge :cool:Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

Whoo hoo - foal at last - looking forward to pics x
Sounds like you have a lot of decisions / thinking going on. Cant be easy. Good luck with it x0 -
You have a decision dilemma on your hands! The chance of bringing on your own horse from the beginning before it has had any negative experiences....hmmm, I know what I'd do. Don't ask, you already know my answer!
I've known the Captain for 26 years since he was four months old. I handled him, taught him ground manners and backed him. He was very opinionated even as a foal!
Keeping my fingers crossed for OH and looking forward to the pictures of the foal.

Not sure you'll be thanking me if you take the yearling on! They are expensive BB! Don't forget shoes, insurance, tack the list goes on.
But worth it, in my opinion! It is very hard to get the right horse for you at the best of times. You would have a very strong bond by the time it came to ride.

Morning world, yay its Friday
Thanks for your advice again Piquant, have a knowledgable friend coming down on Sunday with me to give her advice and if she thinks it may be a possibility next step will be get my vet down to look too as trust his advice. Excited at the prospect but if it doesnt work out then its not to be and will keep cracking on as before, nothing lost.
OH bought a car battery for mum the other day via cashback siteso her money has landed in my account today. Last months expenses have also landed so £132.94 sent of to the target card :j
Put a £10 bet on the grand national today, via cashback site with an offer so if I lose will still make £2.50
Spending will be required today as need to make a cake for nephews birthday party tomorrow so need to get some food colouring and the like, sister has already made a cake but not seen it yet and sort of talked myself into a wee bit of a challengegetting OH to help tonight, could be interesting as baking isnt my forte, if it isnt too disasterous will post pictures
Should be a no spend weekend. Had notification of free listing on ebay so that will be my plan on sunday afternoon, oh joy :cool:Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!
