  • Me and DH went out for dinner last night with some relatives, and they paid for our meal :D it was lovely too, I had:
starter - toasted bruschetta with french roule cheese, avocado, cherry tomatoes, gherkin and some other cheese.
main - pan fried halibut with sweet potato puree, king scallops, green lipped mussels and a coconut curry sauce
pud - apple, cinnamon and walnut tart with pistachio ice cream

the pudding wasn't as nice as it sounded - I left most of it - but my starter and main were amazing :) it was somewhere more expensive than me and DH would go to, so we both made the most of it ;) it also meant that it was a NSD for us yesterday and I'm hoping today will also be one, but we shall see :)

On Friday night I was itching for a takeaway, but instead I made a vegetable curry from store cupboard ingredients, including homemade naan bread for the first time :j it was so easy to do, I need to remember it next time I want to spend £20 on a takeaway that we never finish :p

Going to watch Doctor Who now, as we missed it last night! :D

Watched Doctor Who - I love Matt Smith :o

I'm making giant yorkshire puds filled with mince, peas, carrots, onion and gravy for dinner today, nom nom nom :D had a massive sort out of post/paper/bits and every time I do it, I say 'This would be easier if I just did it when I get the post/paper/other stuff' and deal with it straight away - I'm going to try really really hard this time! :o

In other news, 14th NSD for September for me :)

Aamberle - the yorkshires were very yummy :D they didn't last long!

Well, Monday morning again. And what a horrible morning it is :( it's chucking it down and blowing a gale at the moment, and is really dark and gloomy. Didn't make the 50 minute drive to work very nice, but at least I got here in one piece :)

It won't be a NSD today - I need to get a few bits and pieces, but hey ho. Still on track for my target of 18 for the month, just as long as nothing unexpected arises - touch wood!

Right, best get ready for the day!

Today is not going well :( what normally is a 45 minute journey to work took over 2 hours this morning, due to weather being horrendous and mutliple road closures on route. I had to take a totally different route, meaning I didn't arrive til 9:30am, despite setting off at 7:20am  I hate driving in the rain, I hate driving when I don't know the route, and I hate other drivers who seem to drive like idiots even when the visibilty is really poor! So yes, feeling very :(:( this morning.

It'll be NSD 15 for me today - bought my lunch with me and don't need petrol or anything. I really really want a nice big hot chocolate from co$ta or something, but I've not bought any money with me, so that's probably a good thing, for both purse and waist ;)

I'm now dreading the drive back home too :(

School was closed at lunchtime due to flooding, and there was only one road was open for me to use to get home - so another two hours later and I was safely at home. Don't know if I'm going to risk it tomorrow! It's been raining here constantly for over 36 hours now, and there's no sign of it stopping at all.

That sounds like a good idea... no point risking life if there's no way of getting to work...
