    Morning - oops afternoon!

Hope everyones well - havent had chance to read back yet but may do later.

Late start here today as we needed a lie in. Have had fab bacon rolls for brekkie then unpacked and catalogued 2 cases of wine that arrived this morning. Have had a soak in the bath then made a cuppa which I am just drinking before I get dressed and then need to drag DH into town to get a birthday present. He needs new jeans so I will buy them for him but I want to get him a pair that fit nicely. He is currently trying to do his tax online so I prob have plenty of time to get sorted!

Hope to do some more of my list and some decluttering once we get back.

DS has just arrived home and hit the bathroom, DD is playing Assassins Creed so wont get much help from them two.

Right get dressed then crack on.
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Very slow this morning - infact a severe case of the cant-be-arriseds. I'm thinking of painting the kitchen ceiling later. I need to get on with that room and can't do anything till that awful ceiling is freshened up.

It's really difficult to be house proud when there's areas of your home you really don't like.

    Afternoon all

Busy day here already. We had a wandering spaniel in the garden, and then the house when I openned the door! You can imagine how the cats reacted, especially Queen Victoria, I'm not sure she will ever go in the garden again:rotfl: All 3 are now on the family room sofa, this just does not happen, safety in numbers I think.

    Been to sainsbury (voucher shop)
Dropped a load of stuff at the scrap store
removed Chrismas tree to garden, trunk to burn, branches for recycling
DS3 has tried out for the club U13 squash team and is ranked 1 (he isn't 10 yet)
    Washing on the line

Level one, clear floors... Is this where I admit that in parts of my house the clutter is 4 feet deep? I am trying flylady as a way to help with depression, maybe if I see one clear bit of floor I will cheer up =)

    So hello all

    A xx

Welcome sweetie, stick around, we'll encourage and support you. Please do not try to follow all levels of the main lists we do not want you disheartened. Just pick off the bits you can do and concentrate any energy you have in 15 minute bursts of clutter clearing. Ask us if you need help with any of this. The key really is once an area (however small) is done you need to keep it that way. Good luck

I always simmer mine in the AGA and then remove the rind, top with brown sugar and mustard powder and roast for 20 minutes. Lil_me swears by simmering it in cola, I'm not as keen on this.

Right cuppa and then hoovering and mopping downstairs.

As a long-time owner of an entire pack of Black Dogs, I can tell you it does help!:o And when there's a task to be done that's not a particular favourite, I find it easier knowing that a couple of hundred ladies up and down the country - some even in other countries - are doing the exact same task!:D Daft, but true!

Jojo thank goodness you finally got your steroid jab;:T wish I could have one, it might sort this shoulder out (yes it's still giving me merry Hel).:(

Dilly the Westie has arrived for her 10 day stay, and has made herself totally at home - she's snoozing on the lounge carpet at the moment.:D

  • Hi Everyone,

My week went from bad to worse so havent done much, apart from working as wasnt in the right fame of mind after all thats happened.

    However today has been better,
:staradmin 3 loads in wm, two on line and one about to hang up in airing cupboard ready for when the heating comes on.
:staradmin Put all boxes from christmas into garage, ( 5!) plus 2 cat carriers)
    :staradmin HHP
    :staradmin HHD
:staradmin Clean out Guinea pigs and vacuumed area
    :staradmin W & W and S & S in kitchen

So once Ive hung the washing up I'm off to have a shower then go and see my nan as its her birthday today, a glorious 83 yrs young. Hopefully when i get back I'll be able to get some ironing done before the OH gets home then we can have the evening to ourselves (DD is at her dads for the weekend).

Doing this all today will put me in good stead for next week and hopefully nothing will go wrong that can put a spanner in the works!!

Hope you all have a good weekend.
    Mel.

you sound like a candidate for AnW's patented dot-to-dot method.

Pick one small area - for instance behind a sofa; under a table, a corner of a room. Clear that area. Keep it clear EVEN IF the rest of the room is messy - KEEP IT CLEAR. Next time you have a go pick another area in the same room, completely clear it then keep it clear. Now you have two clear 'dots' Keep going (a bit at a time) until you have made more dots then joined all the dots!

Valli this sounds just what I need. LR is unusable and can hardly get into two other rooms:eek:

Jojo - really glad you finally got your injection

LW - know exactly what you mean about the black dogs. I'm trying to stop mine breeding any more. Wonder if there's a vet who could operate :rotfl:

Not much flying this week so will try to get some bits done over the weekend and start again properly next week.

Have a great weekend everyone :)
