  • 2nd HHC - stables phoned - top lady will phone back - work surfaces sparkly once more - floor cleared in living room & hall ready to be hoovered. Want to strip our bed but DH is still in it!! Will have to find something else to do.

Going for a 3rd HHC then I shall have a coffee.

I've got a big piece of gammon to cook - what's the best way to cook it? I was thinking about putting it in my SC - what do you think?

  • In my last HHC I have put quilt cover on the line. Made cups of tea for lazy men in this house (hoping DH will get up), dusted and dewebbed kitchen, dining room, hall and living room - booked DS1's riding for next Saturday - found DH's iphone cover and 2 pairs of reading glasses behind chest in living room - opened my John Lewis delivery with my new Radley purse - it smells gorgeous! tied and dusted the mantel piece.

Julie - I would take off the rind, score the fat, smother it with honey and roast in the oven - not too hot -covered with foil & basting every now and then - riase the temperature & remove foil for last 30 mins or so to brown it. You could probably do this in the slow cooker too though I guess it wouldn't brown.

    Coffee and emails time

Level one, clear floors... Is this where I admit that in parts of my house the clutter is 4 feet deep? I am trying flylady as a way to help with depression, maybe if I see one clear bit of floor I will cheer up =)

    So hello all

    A xx
you sound like a candidate for AnW's patented dot-to-dot method.

Pick one small area - for instance behind a sofa; under a table, a corner of a room. Clear that area. Keep it clear EVEN IF the rest of the room is messy - KEEP IT CLEAR. Next time you have a go pick another area in the same room, completely clear it then keep it clear. Now you have two clear 'dots' Keep going (a bit at a time) until you have made more dots then joined all the dots!
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY

Adela Great that you're taking positive steps. Dot-to-dot sounds the way to go. Perhaps also consider a bit of self-encouraging 'me-time' between the dots.

    Weekend plan:
    Defrost & clean freezer
Attempt to clean outside of attic window using magnetised window cleaner (not tried before)
Dust landing windowsill, wash glass ornaments, clean window
    Declutter hotspot near stairs

Late start today, but I needed the lie-in. I'll need to keep an eye on DH, as he seems to be stressing over lots of stuff. He's definitely not as resilient as he used to be. OK, time for a few HHCs back to back before I'm off into town. DS1 cleaned parts of the bathroom yesterday, but left a few bits to tidy and the loo to clean. :(

Welcome to all new people (this is a great place and everyone is very supportive) and hi to everyone else. I miss keeping up with the thread, but needs must.

    Your breakfast sounds lovely, valli.

  • Actually I have decided to keep a list of what I have decluttered rather than make a list of what needs to be decluttered. Much less pressure on myself that way!

And am well chuffed with how clean my house already is!

    Thank you Valli.
