Bathroom looking better, I hate the stupid shower...its like a coil and gets minging!!! All clean now though (for 1 day!!!)

Off to do Mum's now, catch you laters xx

  • Thanks to the darling kittycat, Minion got a cup of tea and a flask made up for her to take to school. And I went and waited for the bus with her, or I would have been asleep by about ten to eight, especially as it was still pitch black.

Been to supermarket. Down to my last £5.20 now until next week. :( And it would have to be the one month where maintenance, despite his being paid at least 10 days early, is already 5 days late and very often, never shows up at all. Oh well, going to be channelling my best traditional Irish cooking for a lot of the days. Potato, potato, potato.

Have mucked out splats again. Both trays, much to their joy, as I think they were crossing their little legs this morning. And somebody has been digging in my plants.

Done some washing up and put two bin bags out as well, and unpeeled a carrier bag of Minion's from the living room floor where she has dumped it after spilling something sticky in it

Other than that, have cleaned both loos, shaken the bath mat and the landing is already 100% clear. I daren't go near my room, or I shall feel compelled to sit on the bed, then the next thing I know, it'll be 7 o'clock this evening and Minion will have dined upon the finest the kebab shop has to offer - with my last fiver!

I've had some Marmite on toast, just about to have a cuppa and then I MUST get back up and get on with doing something to keep awake.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Morning DS taken to school and he is stopping at his Dads tonight so i don't have to go out again till Saturday.

Today i have hoovered and dusted and put away the few bits out of place in the living room.

Caught up on the thread. Mrs Chaos did you realise the Feb meet is the Feb half term?

Today i am planning to put on the breadmaker, make a vegetable and ham soup and do a spiced apple cake which is so easy i just have to share it with you xx

    Aunt Sallys Apple Cake

This is ridiculously easy to make!

    8oz self raising flour
    4oz marg or butter
    4oz castor sugar
    8oz roughly chopped apples
    4oz saltanas
juice of half a lemon (soak the apples in this once chopped)
    2 med-large eggs
    2 tsp cinnamon

    1/2 tsp ginger
    • Mix flour and marg til it resembles breadcrumbs.
    • Add all other ingredients
    • Let sit for 5 mins
    • Grease tin
    • Place in tin (push up bottom type if available but not vital)
    • Cook at 180 degrees Gas mark 4 for 1 - 1 1/4 hrs or till a knife pulls out cleanly
Delicious hot as a pudding with custard (or clotted cream.. yummy yum yum) or cold as a deliciously moist cake
Hope you all have a good day and i will be back later so if anyone wants to join me in ACOHC (a couple of hours cooking) then lets go xxx

MummyD - I suppose it's no consolation if I say that in 15 or so years time he'll be coming in a 3,4 or 5am!

Thanks for that! And to think I was reading enviously some of your posts over Christmas where older children were just getting up at lunchtime!

It is NOT going to be a good day today. DS came a cropper in the school playground this morning and I had to send him in with dirty mittens and sopping coat and trousers - with a hope that they'll sort him out with coat on radiator and spare trousers. They're usually pretty good so fingers x'ed. Then about 30 secs after DS's fall DD went headlong too - and just lay in the puddle crying! So, instead of getting some shopping done it was straight home to put her in the bath.
Still, WM is on again (her dirty clothes) and Bolognese is in the S/C for tonight - have 8 children for tea today!

Just off now to dust and hoover today's areas and hoping the day gets a bit better!

Jojo, in the same boat re money here too, hope you manage xx

Done Mum's, now , I need to get on with my own!!!. Think I will start with the trees as it seems pointless to put the hoover round first. So up to the attic for the boxes and get on with it.....I'll report back in 30 with, hopefully, some progress xx
  • mummyD - you eventually reach the stage where they choose not to get upat silly o'clock - but they then start to go to bed much later...so your evenings get gradually encroached upon....

DS is nearly 20 and has been going out since he was 18. He started off coming in at 2, but these days it's nearer 4....

And there are the phonecalls - the one from Spain saying his wallet had been stolen ( wanting the banks emergency number), the one saying someone had punched him and he was going to Casualty, and the rather bizarre one at midnight wanting to know if I would be able to get red wine out of his chinos.......

Enjoy your DS whilst he's little... and enjoy him as he becomes a young man - and put the gey hairs down to experience!

Morning flyers, trying to keep up with things but had little sleep last night due to the wind and my 2 year old getting into my bed at 2.15 am and then wanting a 'wand' at 6.30am so we got up then.:( Feeling really tired and had to endure the high winds a pushchair and 2 girls on the school run uphill ! It doesn't look like clearing much today either.
Think I will go and do some baking...quiche, cake for packed lunches and maybe some bread in the BM plus anything else before I go and sort the main bedroom.
    Oh well onwards and upwards.
    Have fun ;)

I think that's the reason - for those of us who work;)

    Today

make a list of must do jobs (ie a Toots list but a bit shorter)
    bathroom (level 3)
    kitchen (level 3)
sort DS's bed out (find and re-attach castor)
    go get a headlamp bulb

I will pull in more bits as I roll through that list (ie landing)
got meat out last night to thaw in fridge overnight - unusual for me to apply THAT much forethought to meals! - now in SC for casserole (more reliable that using the-oven-with-the-broken-door) even though it's only chicken chasseur and could have been cooked in oven (see comment re oven) and got a portion of HM soup out while I was in there, so that'll be today's lunch - and very appropriate given the weather *shivers*

have defragged PC and removed the last programme I added (Mailwasher) since it seems to have impacted negatively on speed of PC.
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY
