Deco - stop procrastinating and get on with it. It's now the 4th of Jan if you leave it any longer you'll look silly. It only has to be a simple "Happy new Year" then see what happens. You mustn't feel guilty because you are still here and your beloved OH has gone. You are still young and he will want you to live your life to the full.:)

I have emailed him tonight on the pretense that it's part of my new years resolution to keep in contact with people better ;)

Tonight went to SW - only put a 1lb on over Christmas - it's a miracle!

Went to Mr T's - got 2 packs of hair dye for 1.14 each

Swept kitchen floor (why do I forget to copy the list before posting?)
Cleaned out fridge of out of date items
    Made carrot & corriander soup
Wiped tops, window sills & table

    My list for tomorrow.

I need to start work again tomorrow and i'm meeting my Sisters for lunch so i'm not sure how much i'll get done. I'm pleased with what i've achieved while i've been off and as long as i keep up with the dailies as the bare minimum things should hopefully run smoothly.

  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Thankyou so, so much for this thread. I'm finding it's really motivating for me to do some of this, and I'm actually almost enjoying it. Very busy day at work today though, out from half seven until half five so I am really pleased I got as much done as I did once I got home (and some batch cooking).
Sorry I don't have time to read through the thread and catch up properly, hope everyone is well.

House is now looking remarkably good... It may not be particularly clean if you look carefully, but it's a lot tidier, which will help with cleaning. I have a huge bag of recycling cluttering up the utility room thanks to the bin men not emptying my recycling last week (well they did, but only into the empty black bin, so it's gone back in). Bins are tied to the gate again... Let's hope they don't all take off together, as the wind is horrible again.

I hope that OH and I can put two more shelves up and sort out the wiring this week, and when the study wardrobe arrives next week (well, when its out together!) I'll finally be able to have a real sort out of my clothes as all work ones will be out of the bedroom. I might rationalise the suitcases too...

The spare room is the next project, and as the floor in there and on the landing outside it is the most problematic, I'm thinking of getting that done next, then the floor in my bedroom, as I can move everything into the spare room, then paint my room, then paint the spare room. It depends on whether I can find someone to do the floors... Although I hate having work done, I'm at a stage now where it makes sense to do it all in order, rather than decorating the spare room and leaving the floor to annoy me for a year or so before getting it all done once the house is over full of furniture again!

I'm also hoping for some decent weather (i.e, dry and not windy, cold is fine) so I can have a big of a sort out in the garden soon.

Suppose I should head off soon... I'm mostly organised for my trip to the office tomorrow, although as usual I have no clue what to wear!

It has been a really long day with some tough conversations but luckly home now to wine, cheese card biscuits and hubbie clearing up the devastation I have created in the kitchen, guess a reward will be required ;)

Yup, been there, done that. Try Rowan too - they have a number of downloadable patterns. I have a longish list of future projects.

Did you know that some John Lewis branches offer Rowan workshops?
My local fabric/wool shop does them, and I've been to three over the past few years, and OH has just given me another day for Christmas.

Thanks sweetie I've been and had a one to one with the JL woman already. Only applies if you buy their wool but some I like is in the sale and I think I've chosen a pattern so she maybe required again :j

Mudbath : I got my tree from this place 2 years ago and love it. Its 7.5ft (8ft would mean I couldn't put a fairy or star on top :rotfl: ) and has branches which you slot onto the trunk so I leave some off and push it up against the wall ;):D Highly recommend them :
