just trying out my tablet docking station keyboard that arrived today :) happy happy

Teas all done and just finished so DD is clearing the table and loading DW so I will need to follow her up in a minute.

I then need to go and put the decs away that DS has taken down today and luckily for me he's already done and packaged the trees ready to go into the attic. Then I can have a hoover through if DH doesnt object as he doesnt like me to do too much when he's home, prefers me to spend the time with him :D

Hope youre feeling a bit better about things mummyof5 and welcome back to notjustlaura. Will have a quick trawl back a bit further while i guzzle a cuppa.

    back laters:D

Lamewolf - I skim read too!
Mudbath - I'd like an 8' one too but my 7' has a 4' diameter so not sure if the bigger one is a good idea.

PRIORITY TO DO - renew photo driving licence and change name as they are fining people 1000 pounds !!! oops
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Trying to find curtain tie-backs and not doing well. I need a pair that will go with the ones I already have in the sitting room (yes, I know I should have bought two pairs originally...) and one for the study curtains, and can't find anything remotely suitable for either...

I guess I'll just have to get a bit more done off my list, and then have an early night :)

Thanks for DS1s birthday messages, he became a teenager today, officially a Kevin so spent most of his day being a bum & a Kevin.

Mudders - Argos and Homebase here had them
Reduced, more so in Homebase. Asda living too.

Well a successful day, a large start made, lots flung inc sacks of recycling & crates for the garage (to sort for car boot sales) spookingly horribly windy so I don't dare put too much rubbish out as it will just blow away around the street and I'm not ignorant enough. Plan A of the financial sorting done, 2 smaller things repaid. Not left the house so spent nothing. Getting there slowly but surely :)

Right, kitchen to clean up and fridge/freezer to jiggle about, couple of bits to put away in the kitchen then I need my bed, when pupster allows
One day I might be more organised...........

I cannot believe I have actually stood and ironed my pile of washing at 9pm (in bold as I'm chuffed :rotfl::D) at night. I actually feel quite tired now. I have never been so housewife committed in all my time doing this [STRIKE]sentence[/STRIKE] job.

I guess DH should watch The Guns of Naverone more often!:silenced:

Kitchen day and I was feeling quite good as I'd really bottomed the kitchen at weekend and surfaces, sink & floors already looking good. So instead I decided to de-clutter main food store cupboard. Now I'm not going to admit when it was last done, but suffice to say that it was at the state of everything pushed in on top of each other so nothing could be accessed apart from the very front.

Well I've now got one clean and organised cupboard, but in the process I learned some things:
    1) Packet spaghetti is contender for the messiest substance known to mankind - at least when it is in the hands of teenagers. So thinking that a spaghetti jar will be a good investment. Measured the distance between my shelves and put measurement in my phone so I that when I see a suitable container I can tell if it will fit and I won't resort to it cluttering a worksurface.
    2) Daughter loves hot chocolate when we're out, but she never thinks to have it at home. Memo to self to prompt her to use cupboard sachets before end of month use by date.
    3) Learned that when I'm at the supermarket and I think about cooking something with exotic ingredient, I have tendency to assume that I won't have it in store cupboard. 7 cans of coconut milk and 3 jars of thai curry paste tell me that this is not true.
    4) Found jar of pizza topping still in date which I didn't realise I had, so have all the ingredients to make a nice home made pizza for supper. Proving beyond doubt that cleaning and decluttering save me money!

After all that, the floor was smattered with pieces of pasta and grains of rice, so gave it a sweep and mop and felt very virtuous.
