Weekly Flylady Thread 2nd January 2012

I'm back home after a very long day for me. DS1 may have taken DS3 to school but he didn't sweep the kitchen floor or empty the bins. He also CBA to go to the job centre (it was cold). I'm unimpressed.
DD2 has had all her beautiful blonde hair cut off. I had tears rolling down my face and the hairdresser wouldn't take any money. She's also fallen over in the playground and has a graze above and below her left eye. She looks like an advert for the NSPCC.
I have a pork and apple casserole in the oven and now I must peel the spuds for mash. I'm going to do a couple of HHI tonight, nag me please as I want to curl up on the sofa with a blanket and watch tosh tv.0 -
Hello (again)
I'm Laura, 39, living in Glasgow with Sammy-cat and William-cat. I've been on this thread before but didn't keep it up and reverted to letting the Cleaner-Who-Should-Be-Sacked do a not-very-good job and get paid for it. Today I discovered that she's broken an ornament and tried to conceal the evidence. The ornament was a gift so has sentimental rather than financial value but what's upsetting me is the concealment rather than the breakage. This is not the first time she's damaged something and not said anything and I've been a fool to let it go on.
Anyway. I have decided to tell her that she must either pay for a replacement ornament or leave but before I do this I need to be well enough up to speed with the housework that I can manage on my own for the time it will take to find someone else should the current cleaner choose to leave. Having done some work this afternoon (see below) I'm realising how little she's actually been doing so I am considering just sacking her which again means I need to be up to speed. So I don't really know what I'm going to do but in any event I need to know the actual state of my home and the only way to find out is to do these jobs myself for a bit.

Caught up now.
Mumto 5 Awwwwwwww it will grow back but I totally get ya with the crying, it breaks your heart x
NotjustLaura that is simply NOT ON! I am a house cleaner and I cringe when I hear of a bad cleaner as they give people like me a really bad name, get rid of her, she's not doing her job properly and is being sneaky in not telling you about the ornament, breakages happen but you ALWAYS tell the customer and offer to pay damages, I couldn't sleep at night if one of my customers was as unhappy with me as you are with her. Hope you find a super-duper cleaner asap x
Put the bins out, loaded the TD and WM again, put the tea on.
Happy Birthday to Quillion and Lil_me's DS xx0 -

Yup, been there, done that. Try Rowan too - they have a number of downloadable patterns. I have a longish list of future projects.
Did you know that some John Lewis branches offer Rowan workshops?
My local fabric/wool shop does them, and I've been to three over the past few years, and OH has just given me another day for Christmas. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

I did the kitchen and dining room on Monday, so have an unexpectedly clear conscience!:D
I've decluttered a day at school, and have a list of stuff to get ready for tomorrow. I'm not teaching, but going in anyway as I have school trip admin to do, and stuff to prepare for next week.
This evening I also want to clear and declutter the living room. The teens were the only ones home today, and the room actually looked far worse when I got home than when I left - and it was bad enough this morning:eek:
I think I may have to do the same as lamewolf. I want to stay on flylady this term, but the reading may have to take second place after the actual flying!
Love and hugs.It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

DH was at home with the kids today as school are running their entrance exams. I was expecting a bit of a mess, but I got home & they'd baked yummy cupcakes. DH had dropped a bottle of peppermint essence on the floor and it smashed so he had to clean the whole floor - lol. My Whole house smells minty fresh :rotfl:10lb to lose & keep off in 20204.5lb/10lb:rotfl:0
