None of whom should be on the road. You can't criticise one group of 'poor' drivers because it affects another group of 'poor' drivers, they are all as bad and one another.

Can't we all just agree that cyclists are the biggest nuisance on the road and move on? :-)

Some of them can be but not all of them. In fact cycling should be promoted.

True, speeding, middle lane hogging, intimidation. All inconsiderate driving is bad, be it through lack of knowledge or lack of manners.

Yes there should be give and take, and we should not give poor drivers a hard time. I mean we all make mistakes and no-one knows everything, not even about the highway code. BUT while expecting people to tolerate others mistakes we should not lose sight of the fact that ignorance of the rules is a bad thing and just as bad as the wilful rule-breaking of the boy racer.

But they will always be on the road.

If people actually had more patience, didn't intimitade other drivers, left adequate space, didn't undertake etc then there would be far less accidents.

The same goes for good lane discapline. With good lane discapline would stop quite a few above issues and reduce accidents.

If your not that confident at driving then surely it would be better to keep in the left hand lane.

Or preferably keep off the motorway!!
  • I don't understand some peoples mentality when using the motorway

I have a friend who was involed in quite a serious accident on a motorway several years ago. As a result she has panic attacks if she is in a car at high speeds (over 60mph). She still uses the motorways but refuses to go over 50mph and always sits in the middle lane where it's "safer". She regularly gets people flashing, beeping and undertaking her which she ignors as it her right to feel safe??

I think she should be banned from the motorways personally as she is a danger to herself and others.

I think she should be prosecuted, and banned totally from driving. Sorry but she is obviously not up to it at all, she should really get some help getting over it.

Ive encountered various drivers who hog the middle lane and wont move over to lane 1 as its clear. Theres also drivers who will just hog the outside lane when theres no need to as lane 2 and 1 are both clear. Its not hard to work out how a motorway should be used.

This is the one thing that annoys me.

I’ll happily sit at 75/80 in lane 2/3/4 (M25), and one lorry overtaking another on a 2 lane stretch of the M11 this morning said it all! Why when the legal limit is 70, should we sit at 56 to let one lorry overtake another?!

Because some idiot in a grey suit somewhere decided that trucks have to be fitted with speed limiters.
