I just pull 'em out with the help of a trowel and if they are in the lawn or a tight space I use a long screwdriver to get to bottom of root. Never use weed killer of any kind - don't like chemicals, I grow organically you know ;)

We all need to read this one over and over -

until it becomes part of who we are!

    HOW TO STAY YOUNG
    1. Try everything twice.
On one woman's tombstone she said she wanted this epitaph:
"Tried everything twice. Loved it both times!"

    2. Keep only cheerful friends.
    The grouches pull you down.
(Keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches!)

    GetInline.aspx?messageid=91601daf-5100-11e1-b1dc-00215ad73f24&attindex=5&cp=-1&attdepth=5&imgsrc=cid%3aDE7A13F773A74390981B74ACA0A0E532%40Broadmead&shared=1&blob=NXxBVFQwMDAxMy5qcGd8aW1hZ2UvanBlZw_3d_3d&hm__login=i-love-tatty-teddy&hm__domain=hotmail.co.uk&ip=10.13.162.8&d=d205&mf=0&hm__ts=Tue%2c%2007%20Feb%202012%2010%3a56%3a03%20GMT&st=i-love-tatty-teddy%25hotmail.co.uk%407&hm__ha=01_5750f96a0541abb5f31c80ef212b9d8355327fef01196232db1487e017afd0f5&oneredir=1

    3. Keep learning:

Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever...
Never let the brain get idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.'
And the devil's name is Alzheimer's!

    4. Enjoy the simple things.

    5. Laugh often, long and loud.
Laugh until you gasp for breath.

And if you have a friend who makes you laugh,
spend lots and lots of time with HIM /HER.

    6.. The tears happen:
    Endure, grieve, and move on.
The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves.
    LIVE while you are alive.

    7. Surround yourself with what you love:
whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever..

    Your home is your refuge.

    8. Cherish your health:
If it is good, preserve it.

If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

    9. Don't take guilt trips..

Take a trip to the mall, even to the next city, province,
to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

    10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

    11. Forgive now those who made you cry. You might not get a second chance.

Remember! Lost time can never be found.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Love that myalphabetgirls. Made me smile.

On a different topic does anyone here have a wood burning fire? It has been suggested that we get one instead of our open fire as it would give more heat (less waste up the chimney) but I have no idea where to start reading up on them. There seem to be so many different types around. Guess we will also need a new fireplace as looking at the pictures I have seen, they all look too big to fit in what we already have. Also want to know do they heat water or just heat the room?
Am starting to think this could be very un mSE but need to start some research.

    From Yahoo Answers:

    "Why not use human manure?

In some countries people do use baby waste as fertilizer and the crops grow huge. I know this because I remember a man use to use waste from his baby in his vegetable garden and the crops were huge!

Other than the stereotypical "Yuck" factor associated with it but it may be also because there is a high risk of human diseases being spread through the consumption of eating vegetables fertilized with human waste"
