weed killing - sprinkle salt on the slab gaps then pour hot water at the side & couple of days later - the weed dieded:D

So says the man on super scrimpers - don't have to buy expensive weed killer from shop:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I would think just boiling water would do the job without the salt?

yI thought so too but he is the expert:D maybe by adding the salt it will prolong the weed from growing back up.

on the subject of car, I cannot pour any screen wash liquid onto my screen wash box, I can only put water because if I put a bit of the liquid in, it will give out rotten egg smell whenever I started the engine or using the wind screen washer. It has been like that since I bought it (am the 2nd owner) from the garage & they themselves could not figure out what's wrong with it.

if you just pour hot water on weeds, it doesn't kill the roots. Salt kills their roots, making it easy to pull them out including roots, and hopefully not grow back. I tried it and it does work but we have stubborn weed and grass, so worked well on little weeds. Not on big weeds. I need jeferey to come and sort them out!

have they tried replacing the screen wash box? maybe previous owner filled it with something else by mistake? And if it has never been washed out properly.....

I watched super scrimpers as well.

At least its educating people not to get ripped off by different companies, ie mobile phone contracts so some people will benefit in the end.

Re weedkiller - got a load last year, around 12 spray bottles for .25p a bottle from tesco at the end of the summer so that will last me a few years.

Liked the bedroom that was done up for under £50, looked nice and fresh.

Currently have SS on Sky+ as OH has the fitba on (though I must confess I am watching it as much as him)

I can top the 25p weedkiller...my mum gave me a bottle last summer of the stuff you can use on lawns (had a dandilion infestation), so my weedkiller was FREE! :D (I did buy my mum a watering can and a trowl in the Tacto sale though, and gave her one of the 92p packs of Plenty - and have told her NOT to buy any fabric softener when she needs any :A)
