Good morning from the doctors surgery :(

LO'S still not well, so we're here with a poo sample for testing. Got an 8.20 appointment, so thankfully a very short wait. Will then head home and wait for the delivery... Did a Sainsburys order online last night, so if we end up stuck at home again at least we'll have food arriving this afternoon!

Have a good day all :)

Hope she is ok nutella. Xx

:( hope shes ok. How long do you wait for the results?

    There goes your lentil rattle!!

    X

I know - it was tempting to ask for another one, but a) the doctor might have questioned my sanity, and b) I don't suppose provision of rattle-making equipment falls within the remit of the NHS!... :o

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. We saw the same doctor, who's lovely and seems to know what she's talking about, she thinks LO's on the mend because she's been very hungry and eaten a lot over the past 24 hours + she doesn't have wind anymore, and that her tummy is just taking a bit longer to sort itself out. She recommended feeding her simple root vegetables for a couple of days to get some stodge into her, so we had sweet potato for breakfast and will be having potato for lunch (with some butternut squash thrown in, otherwise she's not keen). Turns out feeding her parsnip yesterday might not have been such a bad idea after all!

We'll get the test results Monday or Tuesday. At least she's still cheerful, happily bouncing in jumperoo, smiling, laughing and eating, so it seems I'm more bothered by the 6-10 poos* per 24 hours than she is!

I hear noises from upstairs, think she's waking up from her nap...

    * And constant nappy leaks - it seems they're not made for diarrhoea :(

Nutella, every single one of my Prime orders so far has been late, I'm fuming! They keep blaming Royal Mail, but they're using First Class all the time, that isn't a next day delivery service! I'm on the verge of giving up, late deliveries, Marketplace stuff that's never as described or posted late, it's getting too much hassle.

Think I need a bigger room, the boy is trying to pull himself out of the activity station using his playpen!

Sorry to hear your little one is having tummy problems Nutella - hope they clear up soon. x

Just home from our postnatal check- saw the same dr that dismissed the tongue tie and she clearly is in the wrong position at the surgery (she does all the paediatric checks) as her response when I told her all of the problems with wind and vomiting etc. that Jonathan has had is that her children are all grown up now so she doesn't know what to suggest and what did the health visitor recommend? She said that she's not worried about the being sick as he's clearly putting on healthy amounts of weight. He was 7 weeks old yesterday and now weighs 12lb 11 oz and is 60cm tall!

Anyway, about the tongue tie as I'm on the topic - I went to the tongue tie clinic yesterday afternoon and the lady said that she can feel a slight tie on his tongue but that he has a good range of movement still - she wants me to think about it for a week and if I still want it cut, she's happy to do it for me. However, she looked at my positioning when feeding him, and has tweaked a few things that I was doing, and I gave him a full feed on the mastitis boob without it hurting! :D She also showed me some tips for lying down feeding too, so it was definitely worth going just for that as it was like having a lactation consultant come to your house as I lay on the treatment bed to try it etc. I was there for a good 45 minutes and then went straight to breastfeeding group and fed him on the other side. I also fed him last night for 15 minutes on mastitis boob and 30 on the other one. :jHaven't breastfed him this morning yet as our appointment was at 10 so was in a bit of a rush to shower etc, but will feed him again when he wakes up. The dr praised me for not giving up and said I deserve a medal for my perseverance which was nice. It's also helped me to lose all of my pregnancy weight as I'm 10stone exactly. :)
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Sexymouse, that's great news! And yes, you do deserve a medal - I gave up BF long before 7 weeks :o But  at the postnatal check doctor! How's Jonathan's arm now, by the way?

hiya :) can i jump in for a little bit :) not yet ttc (january) :)- but just wanted to know if anyone had done the nct antenatal classes?

plus- did anyone have a water birth? i love the idea of this :) thanks!

    Hi

I had one class at my local hospital - it was fine. It was nice to be able to ask questions and learn a few things. But it was only one class, literally around 4hrs.

Didn't have a water birth, but if you're interested in it, mention to your hospital. I think a lot will depend on whether they have the facilities for it, and also how your pregnancy is getting on.

    Good luck

I think we're going to leave the rear facing for our next car seat, and have decided to go for the next stage up from the Britax First Class, and get the Britax King Plus. Read loads of reviews and am happy that its highly rated and safe of course!!
