Also the nct did cover our hospital speciffically (sp!) and also the option of home birth.

we also had two hours on br,eastfeeding (optional) where you got the numbers of your local bre, astfeeding counsellor who without which i would have given up on day three, let alone be planning to feed till two years.

I could sing the nct praises all night!

    And now im boring you....

Vicky, I love my Miosolos :) all you'l need is a nappy bucket or wet bag to keep the dirty ones (I got mine from Mothercare £6.99 I think) and I've just bought a fleece blanket from the pound shop for liners. You're good to go then x

    Lovely pics everyone.

Katiechoc - I hate it when that happens. I missed out on a baby back carrier today, it was only down the road and went for £30!!

    Good evening ladies :)

Love the photos - such cute babies!

Katie and Sammie, boo to missing out - hope something equally good (or better!) comes along soon. And wow to George napping - wish my LO would do that!

Our pram had a puncture today :( Got it fixed at the bicycle shop, but WHY do people drop pins on pavements?!... Got rained on whilst walking back come, I got a bit wet but LO was happy - she loves watching and listening to the rain drops on the plastic cover above her head! It's actually quite cold now, but I've just discovered Cadbury's Options hot chocolate with hazelnut (only 40 calories), so I'm not complaining :)

We use cloth nappies vicky, what do you mean by not kitted out?

I only have a few mio solos. I don't have anything else, no bucket/wetbag etc. I just use them in the house lol. I don't understand the complicated world of liners/wraps just yet as I'm just starting out. :o I need a lot more nappies to be able to fully use cloth I think!

Hot chocolate sounds nice!! I love drinking hot chocolate in the winter when it's dark and raining, makes me feel all warm inside!!

Question for those with crawling/walking babies: apart from a jumperoo (think we know what you think of those! ;)), what have you found useful for keeping your LOs safe, happy and in one place for long enough to enable you to go to the loo, eat your lunch etc? We're approaching the point where leaving my LO on the playmat is no longer a safe option and she gets a bit bored with her bouncer seat. I sometimes put her in the cot with the mobile on, but as it's upstairs I don't like leaving her there if I'm downstairs. I've been thinking about a playpen, but not sure how I feel about putting my LO in what is essentially a cage! :o

I've added another 3 or 4 to my watch list to make up for missing that one ;). Was just fuming because I honestly thought the price would rocket in the last few seconds so only bid £82 then I couldn't get £85 in quick enough. So close!

Nutella - he put himself to sleep but unfortunately only slept for 20 minutes and woke up in a foul mood, even when oh got home from work he didn't get his usual smiles until almost bed time, don't know what had got into the little monster!

We've had friends round tonight, had a Mexican feast - nachos, chilli and a (slightly odd) Mexican chocolate pudding thing that I found a recipe for online. Probably won't do the pudding again but I'll give myself top marks for effort :). Have to add oh made the chilli, can't take credit for everything!

Oh no! Can you nap on the sofa until he comes back?...

Don't know if I should be worried about hot chocolate weather in August (and LO having been put to bed wearing vest AND sleepsuit for the first time in weeks), but I really enjoyed it! :o

A bucket/wetbag is very useful vicky but you can get away with using a plastic bag :-) but a proper bucket keeps the smell in.

we only use cloth at home or at my mums as we take the 'lazy' option when out and about. But every cloth nappy we use saves us 10-15p so that will add up especially when we have another lo. We use a cut up towel as wipes.

Or at least thats what i tell my dh :-) im slightly addicted to wee notion nappies so whenever i have the cash another nappy appears! :o

i like the paper liners as the wee'd ones get washed to use again and the poo ones get flushed.
