This thread is moving too fast now - you guys have to stop talking while I am out!!

Been busy today as DH had a job interview and I had to take him as he normally rides a motorbike and would have turned up hot and sweaty and looking like he'd been dragged through a hedge backwards! If it comes off it won't be much if any more money and will be further from home, but his stress levels at working with a bunch of idiots should go down so that will be all to the good.

No idea what everyone has been talking about, aside from check ups. I think the 6/8 week one was utterly pointless too. Asked about delivery, if I felt okay and then about contraception. Now I realise it is perfectly possible to get preggers straight after a baby but having the one thing that does cause it is not the first thing on any woman's mind as we tend to be a bit knackered... When I said to the dr I didn't want long-term contraception like the implant and we'd use rubber, he told me they were only about 60/70% effective (which is only the case if you don't use them right) but by the sounds of things I didn't mind if I got pregnant again

This appointment was after the 6 week follow up one at the hospital to check on my stitches which had to be done in surgery after the delivery. At that one the dr didn't examine me at all, basically asked me if I was in pain or incontinent in any way, and asked if I had dtd and when I said no, asked why not

Anyhow, gnomie is doing well. She's rolling more often now and seems to know she is doing it rather than the first couple of times when she looked very confused (although that may have been because of her overexcited mother giving her a round of applause!!)

Ro, was it you asking about 8 month check? Not even sure if they do them here. I may find out from HV but they haven't been in touch with me. I go up once a month to get her weighed just for my own curiosity. Last two times they've barely asked anything about her, if we are okay or anything. At 5 months she weighed 13lb3 and was plotting over the 9th centile for the first time. I know she's getting bigger and longer and that she's dinky, so I'm not fussed about it.

Weaning is still going well. Yesterday I found out that on sunday she ate carrot! Ro, there is one consolation - it's a lot easier to clear up when it has substance!!

My 6-8 week checkup was more like a 10 week one? Asked how I felt, mentioned it was still quite sore etc, was told it would heal (hmmph). I don't even think they asked me about contraception! Though i'm old enough to know. :) My stitches were checked on very quickly, but was so swollen still it probably would have been hard for her to spot there was a problem.

Crabapple- good luck with OH's interview.

Gosh I'm not alone!!! The fussy eating drives me nuts, and there is just no colour on their plates (apart from baked beans) so boring !! - glad to hear I'm not the only one who has to put up with such nonsense :) I'm making sure I always cook separate food for me now I'm BFing - I want Reuben to be used to lots of diff flavours, so when he's bigger me and him can have 'proper' dinners.

*ro* glad to hear the nights do get easier, unfortunately nights shifts are mine alone for now - looking forward to when I can express and daddy can do the odd bottle feed, but I'm terrified of nipple confusion at the mo so haven't dared it yet! Lol I always laugh at the term "nipple confusion", sounds so bizarre!

    How are u ?

    Hi Ro my darlin'. :D

I'm still feeling pants, hoping the AB's kick in tomorrow. As the doc promised, they are also making my tummy hurt.

I've tried and tried with the jumperoo, and she fiddles with the top stuff, but is just not at all inclined to JUMP!! Kinda defeats the object of a jumperoo doesnt it! I have bought her a learn and groove activity station, which she MUCH prefers. She was having a good old go at it today.

Turtle- tell your DH male lactation is possible. That one had my DH on a Google search in a panic.

Kira- bring her over when you're better! Or Fedex her. :)

I always love the look of utter terror on blokes' faces as the baby starts to do a boob crawl toward their chest!

My LO managed to latch onto daddy once. Gave him one hell of a surprise!!

I don't express a lot but it does help to have milk about so that I can kick DH out of bed in the morning and have a lie-in myself. I've given up on the idea of him doing night feeds because I wake up when she cries and wait for a while for him to realise, then have to kick him awake, then listen to him grumble and try to go back to sleep, then finally roll of out bed, all the while listening to her complaints get louder. It's far easier to do it myself!
