I find that very true for SOPI polishes. I have "only gold for me" which is a great topcoat and 212, which is (in my opinion) the best colour from the SOPI range, but honestly I wouldn't buy anything else from that nail range.

This is the kit that MrM bought me when we were in the US last year:
http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P298747. I've tried 9 of the colours so far and tend to agree with you about the streakiness in all of them None of the colours are that unusual either that I wouldn't already have a similar one in my collection or find it hard getting a copy of. Of the 9 I've tried I love Break a Leg Warmer (which I've purchased full size bottle of second hand) and Metro Chic which Rimmel do a similar shade to and I may have a look out for. Meant to say earlier that I repainted my nails in Access 24/7 which is ok but is a jelly type lacquer and I'm not keen on those type anyway.

I do own the Non Caff Soy Latte nude one in their range as well and that's lovely. Haven't seen 212 in the flesh but looked it up online after reading your post and it is gorgeous. I don't really want any more dark lacquers though.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I'm a sucker for dark polishes with anything unique inside of them. The holographic glitter in 212 is breathtaking. I just never thought SOPI was worth $9, especially when regular OPI was the same price.

And I agree with you, I'm not into Jelly either.

3 OUTS. My lovely friend just bought 3 items off of me YES!

    OUTS:
Milani nail polish in Purple Gleam - Gorgeous gorgeous polish, but I've gone off glitter polishes
YSL lip brillance #3 - I just have so many lippies that I never reached for this
No 7 Grey skies nail polish - As much as I love grey nail polish, I don't need 15 grey polishes lol

So happy to report some OUTS, and I hope to use some more products this evening when I take a bath

    4 UU

Oral B Pro Expert - Sample - WBA, i love this stuff and i love the crunchy texture :) will buy again with the coupon from Supersavvyme
ARK Cleanser, 2ml - WNBA - 2ml in a small pot is not enough to figure out how good it is. It was also a weird texture
ARK Moisturiser, 2ml - WMBA - It was just as good as any moisturiser, again a small 2ml pot is very difficult to judge
Flexitol Dry Skin Balm, 3ml Sachet - This actually worked really well and is helping to dry skin that has appeared on my elbow
    Total debts = [STRIKE]£3116[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]2216[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£2066[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1916[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1766[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1616[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1466[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1316[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1166[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1016[/STRIKE]£866
    DMP £150 each month
Total paid off so far £2150 :D

    Hi All,

A few UU to report from the last couple of days and, shock horror, my first, unexpected but totally unavoidable, In!

    Firstly the outs:

Lush The Olive Branch shower gel - WBA - blurb on the bottle says something about it being a reassuring shower gel to hold you in its arms and keep you safe - I kind of know where they're going with this, there is definitely something comforting about it on a cold dark morning - really moisturising and lathers up easily, a nice alternative to a more floral fragrance. Also going to keep the 100ml bottle to decant something else into next time I go away so I don't have an excuse to hang onto travel sizes, or worse, buy more!

S&G Off Your Face face wipes - WNBA (think they've been replaced/rebranded anyway) They were ok but I expected them to be a bit nicer, didn't think they were very good at removing makeup either, much cheaper, better alternatives about, I like Nivea - trying to only have face wipes in reserve anyway for a quick fix and 'do it properly' and use up my little stash of cleanser, makeup remover etc

Elle Macpherson Start The Day body wash - WNBA ever! This is a GA/TA not a UU, on first use was so overwhelmed by the fragrance which was a cross between grapefruit and sour milk that I had to go back over and rewash with Clean On Me to get rid of the smell! Can't discount the possibility that it had actually gone off but shouldn't have done as 24m use by and I'm sure it was only from last Christmas.... Might give it Mum to car boot but more tempted just to chuck it as can't see anyone liking this particular bottle!

Finally, the surprise IN! Was rushing around yesterday morning as we were meeting some friends to go to Chester Zoo (not the best plan given the gale force winds but hey), got almost there and realised I'd somehow managed to forget to put deodorant on!?! So a quick detour to Sainsburys was made for some Sure Cotton Ultra Dry roll on - although I've a few similar in the stash already not overly put out over this as I will definitely use it just a bit annoyed I ruined my no Ins for January by doing something so daft! :o

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone - the work bullying is so awful to see, have to agree with the comments regarding HR backing the organisation though, as an office manager its something I've seen too often, union support is crucial and in some cases definitely makes all the difference in having something resolved properly and satisfactorily rather than someone being unfairly 'pushed out' - good luck to anyone in this position and remember Karma is a b***h ;)
  • A few UU/Outs this week:

Boots Baby oil – use this as makeup remover, so obv WBA but already have more in stash

Mascara (tester item from Boots panel) - WBA for sure if I knew what it was!

    Hotel soaps - gifted

    17UUs this year (if I include sales/gifted items) :)

Also tried the Clinique mascara freebie today that I got last week and I quite like it. Never tried Clinique mascara and would probably not pay full price for it, but it's decent enough, if a bit clumpy.

For those of you who go to Sephora in the USA, does it do the same stuff as Sephora on the continent? I was a regular visitor to the one in Rennes when I lived in France, absolutely loved their own brand make up.... never did buy the more expensive stuff although there was a lot there.
Goals for 2012: finish course; get job; new pet; ring; house; car; holiday; learn to knit; size 10; finish '50 books to read before July 18': 17/50 ; savings account: £2450.68/£6000; improve my French and German.... how many can I achieve?! :D

I may yet go back and change the two facial sun creams I bought because I think I can get some non sale items for cheaper than I got the sale items for (IYGWIM?). Can anyone advise what type is the best though? I want to be able to wear make up whilst we are out there and don't want to be some sweaty shiny blob all the time either.
We go mid August so it's going to be hot hot hot! Hence the factor 50+
Gotta go and get dressed now DH keeps nagging me :o!

Kaz2904, I am not a fan of No.7 products but their facial 50 SPF cream is amazing. I react towards most facial sun products but not this one and it doesn't make my face shiny and it is doesn't feel greasy either. I have used this one for the whole body. Boots is currently running their £5 off voucher for No.7
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
    Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j
  • go in through the bottom. i refilled my travel brush that way. theres a plastic disc that has the label on, if you get a knife under the edge of that disc, it pops off and on again if you only want a bit out). mine took a bit of getting back on again but it does go back on in the end.

Thanks ES - have had a look at my (ahem) new pot and I can see what you mean - will definately try that next time the pot is almost empty to get my brush in and pick up all the dregs.

Heads up for any LE fans there is a QVC TSV coming up at the beginning of Feb and rumour has it it contains mostly haircare.

Phew - I could be safe! I like the LE haircare but have some Ojon to use first and I do like Aveda Rosemary and Mint so although nice, they are not my HG products. I agree with the rest of you that the footcream dispenser is rubbish. The product is great - it would be much better just in a tube with a screw top.

No more UUs today but have some splutterers so could be adding to my £1 pot very soon this week (and decreasing my stash slowly but surely)!

BTW - I got my L'Occitane email for the free handcream but I can't get the barcode to display - anyone else had this problem? I am thinking of just taking it in anyway to see if I can redeem it.
  • Oh my word ladies - trouble ahead!

Smashbox is on QVC tomoro, and I'm at home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will have to be very, very strong to not buy anything. Oh my word, its causing palpitations already.....
