  • Some outs today as I just sold them on Ebay, went for a good price as well!

    OUT

Lush Magic Wand Bubble Bar (great idea but it doesn't really work as well as a bubble bar, have one in use and one unopened - so I sold the unopened one)
Lush Candy Mountain Bubble Bar (Still leaves me with 4 in the stash!)
Lush Magic Mushroom Bubble Bar (From Valentines 2011, was saving it incase they didn't bring them out again as it's my fav bubble bar ever, but they are)
Lush Shimmy Shimmy Massage Bar (Got in a gift set - hate them! Have another one listed as well)
TBS Tea Tree Exfoliating Wash (Bought on a whim in one of their online glitches - I'll never use it!)
Clinique Clarifying Lotion 200ml (I have a 400ml one in use and don't like it very much, so sold the unopened one)
  • OMG - have lots of catching up to do on the thread - will be settling down to read all your posts since last Mon when I was completely floored with a flu bug. Returned to work Thurs (think this may have been a mistake) but at least I am finally starting to feel human again today.

My Elemis TSV arrived and it is lovely - have added it to my spreadsheet and can't wait to use it when I have shifted some of my older stuff.

I have some UUs to report and also some v exciting news (well I'm excited!) I have won tickets for the QVC Beauty Bash so am off there on 25 Jan (yippee) :j. I last went 7 years ago when I was expecting my youngest daughter and that was courtesy of a friend of mine so I can now take her along this year.

    Here are the UUs:
Boots No 7 perky peach highlighter (about 8 years old and did nothing for me so bit the bullet and threw out). (Now use Bobbi Brown highlighter which is much better.)

Clarins relaxing shower bath concentrate - this is nice but was a GWP and I wouldn't pay the full price for it as I prefer L'Occitane

Have some splutterers so will be back with more UUs soon I hope

Yesterday I did my first toiletry purchase this year. I couldn't resist a bargain! I walked through Debenhams at lunch time a spotted that a reduced Jadore set was on the shelf again with 50 ml perfume, 50ml shower gel and 50 ml body milk reduced to £43.33 (when just the perfume is normally £60). I enquired about this set just after Christmas when they were first reduced and was told that they were sold out but today SA had found 4 more sets in the stock room. I couldn't resist. I have been saving up my Boots point for the last couple of years for a bottle of Jadore and wasn't far off from getting one for free but I would have regretted if I didn't buy this set.

Yesterday, I was called into the office at work and was asked if I wanted to cover for our secretary for our new management team for 6 months when she goes on maternity leave at the end of this month. I have only been a temp in this department for 2 months and feel chuffed that the management had noticed my potential and appreciated what I consider to be my strong points so now I will get increased pay and have work until August rather than March this year. This job will look very good on my CV! About a year ago I had no choice to resign from my permanent job because I was bullied by my manager who thought that all my strong points were rubbish and made me feel rotten as a person, ever since then I have tried not to use my initiative and have stopped suggesting things at work. Anyway, I cannot tell you how good I feel that my strong points have been noticed. I also take great pleasure in that I reported that manager to the head of the division who investigated my claims and I have recently found out that the person who bullied me lost their job.

This set for me will be a reminder when I feel like I got my confidence back and to always believe in myself.

    Good for you Becky,

I wish you every success in your new role. I hope you continue to go from strength to strength and enjoy wearing your new scent xx

Have you tried this dry shampoo before, and if so, does it work well?
I saw the post about the BOG2F and it was temptingly cheap, but not sure whether to buy it as all the alternatives to Batiste that I've ever tried haven't been very good.

This is the first time I've bought it, however I think it works well and doesn't make your hair look greasy. You might want to buy one of the travel 50ml ones for £1... then if you don't like it you're not stuck with 3 bottles of the stuff. HTH.
  • I brought the bodyshop Maccadamina serum stuff for about £6 and its pretty good for making your hair straighter and smells so nice. Bottle has barely gone down and Ive had it months might be worth a try or see if they do a sample?

Ohh I've just done an online order with them and I was in two stores today and still managed not to notice they had this! Thanks for the tip I'll look out for it!
Thank you ladies for the update on the oil. My Hairdresser thinks that somehow the spray applicator makes a difference. You know, rather than spreading it on the pads of your fingers and applying to your hair? So I was thinking of putting the oil I already have into some sort of spray applicator. I'll let you know how I get on. I do rate the Argan Oil range that they are doing in the large Superdrug stores at the moment. I have very thick, shoulder length, straight, died blonde hair (grey underneath:() so I'm always looking for products to keep my hair silky and shiny.

I wonder if thats just beacuse it gives a lighter and more even application? It seems to thick to be able to 'spray' to me though? Let us know how you get on!

So many IN's from me today :o

YSL Belle de Opium perfume set
    TBS Almond Body Butter (freebie)
TBS Rainforest Moisture set (shampoo cond, treatment, comb)
Liz Earle Try Me Set (cleanser, toner, moisturiser, mask)
L'Occitaine shea butter and honey tin

Oh actually thats it, not too bad :o

but then there was my bodyshop order last night

Earth Lovers™ Watermelon & Eucalpytus Shower Gel
Earth Lovers™ Cucumber & Mint Shower Gel
Earth Lovers™ Fig & Rosemary Shower Gel
    Hi-Shine Lip Treatment
Gift Box Small - Moroccan Rose
    Brazil Nut Body Butter
    Vitamin E Facial Oil
    Kistna Hair & Body Wash
    Shea Lip Butter
Natural Lip Roll On - Coconut
Natural Lip Roll On - Rose

    I suck at this :o
  • I was good today - only bought two bottles of mouthwash, and I'm not counting them as INs as I had no mouthwash in the stash. Mind, I probably wouldn't have found it so easy to resist the Body Shop sale if I didn't already have most of the stuff!

Today's UU was a 200 ml Avon Naturals Body Whip in Vanilla. This is a cross between a lotion and a butter, a lovely, light textured, beautiful looking, pearlescent product that smells divine.

So WIBA is a formality? Well no... because whether I applied a little or a lot I seemed to spend ages pushing it around on my skin, waiting for it to absorb. Good for stretching and massage, yes, but it didn't rub in well at all.

Next in line is the 'saved for Winter' Aldi Hydro Urea Body Butter that I so loved using last year. This is a special, last year it was available around Mother's Day and I ended up with 2.

I had to grit my teeth when using disappointing (and more expensive) products not to open this one. I really do rate it.

Aldi opens in my town later this year after a lonnggg delay, :j I know I bang on about their products but why wouldn't I when they are so good?
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • I don't have a UU as such, but does it count that i didn't go to my normal hairdresser at £30 a pop and let my (qualified hairdresser) friend do a wash/cut/blow dry and finish for a tenner?

I feel this is an achievement because I'm very nervous about letting anyone new near my hair (my normal hairdresser was a trainee when I was 16 and has been the only one to cut my hair since barring a couple of emergencies. unfortunately, as she rose through the ranks at the salon, so did the prices lol)

Oh and my friend did a fantastic job!
