Yesterday I did my first toiletry purchase this year. I couldn't resist a bargain! I walked through Debenhams at lunch time a spotted that a reduced Jadore set was on the shelf again with 50 ml perfume, 50ml shower gel and 50 ml body milk reduced to £43.33 (when just the perfume is normally £60). I enquired about this set just after Christmas when they were first reduced and was told that they were sold out but today SA had found 4 more sets in the stock room. I couldn't resist. I have been saving up my Boots point for the last couple of years for a bottle of Jadore and wasn't far off from getting one for free but I would have regretted if I didn't buy this set.

Yesterday, I was called into the office at work and was asked if I wanted to cover for our secretary for our new management team for 6 months when she goes on maternity leave at the end of this month. I have only been a temp in this department for 2 months and feel chuffed that the management had noticed my potential and appreciated what I consider to be my strong points so now I will get increased pay and have work until August rather than March this year. This job will look very good on my CV! About a year ago I had no choice to resign from my permanent job because I was bullied by my manager who thought that all my strong points were rubbish and made me feel rotten as a person, ever since then I have tried not to use my initiative and have stopped suggesting things at work. Anyway, I cannot tell you how good I feel that my strong points have been noticed. I also take great pleasure in that I reported that manager to the head of the division who investigated my claims and I have recently found out that the person who bullied me lost their job.

This set for me will be a reminder when I feel like I got my confidence back and to always believe in myself.

I have been having a rather rough week with one thing and another. work is in upheaval with moving offices so I can't find things. Lots happening in general - I just feel like I am taking a battering right now. All of which has badly affected my sleep this week so I am like a zombie. It is a real struggle to get up in the morning as I am so tired so I have been sleeping a little later and just using my dry shampoo. The result is I have another splutterer - batiste dry shampoo. My sleep improved last night and now I have a few days away from the riot at work, I would imagine it will improve again.....I need a holiday!

    Fiasco55,

Hope the upheaval at work soon will be sorted so that you can sleep better.

I have some time finally to post a list of UUs. Some are from December but to be honest I didn't declare them so doing them all together :eek:

    UUs
M&S Tess Daily Moisturiser SPF12: WIBA? Maybe if it was still available (it's not) and was at the sale price of £2 (Bargain!)
Lush Dorothy Bubble Bar: WIBA? Yes. I love bubble bars :)
Lush The Godmother Soap: WIBA? Yes. I really like the scent of this and enjoy using it. I do find Lush items expensive so other than the bubble bars I don't really buy throughout the year, only during the Post-Christmas sales.
Lush Angels Delight Soap: WIBA? Yes, but it's only available at Christmas and see above. Now got a Lush Rockstar in it's place.
Boots Trial Body Lotion: WIBA? No. It was ok, but have far too many in stash already!! Now trying to UU TBS Sweet Lemon Body Whip :/
TBS Sweet Lemon Body Scrub (50ml): WIBA? I don't think so. It was alright, but as a scrub I found it a bit redundant and not scrubby enough iykwim? Onto a Lush Australian Igloo bought in the sales.
S&G Hand Food (full size): WIBA? Maybe. It smelt nice, it just seemed to be a real LHJ and by the end I was desperate to finish it (I did cut the tube those to be MSE and UU all of it). Onto a L'Occitane Rose hand cream (the freebie from MC last year).
Clinique DDM (trial size): WIBA? No. It didn't seem to do anything for my skin, but I persevered and finished it :T Onto a Time Delay Radiance Booster.

    TAs
Bourjois Liner Effect Waterproof mascara: WIBA? No. I wanted a waterproof mascara and bought this one to get the free eyeliner. Serves me right for buying it as although I liked the definition to my lashes, what they need is volume and curling, not length. This had been open over a year and it hadn't been used for months (I misplaced it :o)
Lush Ambrosia Shaving Cream: WIBA? No. This was from a grab bag a couple of years ago. It was alright, but the bottle was an absolute nightmare to remove the product from as it was that awful stiff plastic.
HE Root Volume Booster: WIBA? No! Never used, won when I was at uni (c. 8 years ago) & arrived with dispenser damaged. It was wasting space in the bathroom, should have TA years ago!

Sorry for the epic list, got another to follow later with INs :o
No buying unnecessary toiletries/makeup in May: Unnecessary spend £17.60
    May
    INs: 14 UUs/OUTs/GAs: 11
    2012 INs: 77 UUs/OUTs/GAs: 91
    Savings from UUs: £60.50

oh yes well done such a confidence boost:)
on the subject of tressemme WHY are their bottles soooooo big??????I buy the 900ml ones when on bogof and they last for ages.I like them but the bottle is too big for the shower caddy so keep meaning to decant to smaller bottle...same as L'occitanne shower/hand wash that also come in huge bottles.I do decant conditioner for DH to take in his bag to the pool.I am a bit lazy and cannot always be bothered to use the swim/gwm shampoo/cond esp as we now only have 1 hairdryer at the pool:(
booked an appointment for my next hair cut last time I went to the salon for 10th feb BUT think i will have to change it as it already looks ready for a cut my hair is strange as sometimes is very curly and others dead straight...now it is dead straight so looks longer (and flatter:()
  • Happy Saturday ladies!

    Speaking of tressemme....
I have another UU to report!
I just finished their conditioner for colour treated hair.
WIBA? WNBA...unless it was at poundland haha. It worked fine, but I didn't really see any benefits to it. So unless it was dirt cheap, I probably would not buy again. I did get this as part of the BOGOF offer, so I can't really complain :)
