And I agree with you, I'm not into Jelly either.
I thought the $OPI ones were dearer as they were free of fomaldehyde etc?
Have had to repaint my nails AGAIN because the Access 24/7 chipped after only one day. Am now wearing Dear Diary which looks very similar to Suzi and the Lifeguard which I own. Finally, the surprise IN! Was rushing around yesterday morning as we were meeting some friends to go to Chester Zoo (not the best plan given the gale force winds but hey), got almost there and realised I'd somehow managed to forget to put deodorant on!?! So a quick detour to Sainsburys was made for some Sure Cotton Ultra Dry roll on - although I've a few similar in the stash already not overly put out over this as I will definitely use it just a bit annoyed I ruined my no Ins for January by doing something so daft!
I love Chester Zoo. We haven't been for a couple of years now though I don't think. My favourite bit is the Bat Zone and the tunnels you can climb into and come up within the enclosure to look at the Marmosets. I think it's meant to be for kids really :rotfl: Did they have any new animals?CompletelyLost wrote: »Also tried the Clinique mascara freebie today that I got last week and I quite like it. Never tried Clinique mascara and would probably not pay full price for it, but it's decent enough, if a bit clumpy.
I'm not very impressed by the High Lengths one that I got as it feels too thick on my lashes. Prefer Lash Power. May have to treat myself to a tube of this when I go for my consultation.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Hi everyone,
I hope this is not too OT, but I just want to mention something that did not occur to me until much too late.
I am 62 years young, blessed with good skin genes and have moisturised my face since I was 17, using SPF's as soon as they became available, so I am fortunate to have great skin and hair, BUT I never thought about my hands, I spent lots of time outdoors, dog walking, gardening and walking holidays in the UK, consequently my facial skin looks early 50's and my hands 70+, can I advise handcreams with SPFs or budget price pots of face cream with sun protection for slapping on when you are about to spend time outside.
Best wishes. MM
Hi maddiemay. I'm not sure that I've seen any handcreams containing SPF but a really good brightening ingredient is white mulberry. I like Molten Brown White Mulberry hand lotion.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Now I've caught up with you all I have an IN to confess to. Last week I used a Nutrisse hair colour and I think I left it on too long as my hair has dried out and become frizzy - plus the colour is not so great! Went to Boots on Sunday with MrM and he suggested I get a leave in treatment. Ended up buying a bottle of Elvive Restorative Shampoo which was cheap - was on clearance shelf for £1.34 (and I used Advantage Points to purchase) then got home and realised I have some Ojon Ultra Hydrating shampoo and conditioner!Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. What about just a high SPF suncream in the day and an anti-ageing cream at night? Or a DIY vitamin c serum? TK maxx seem to have lots of cheap creams in and my local had some 8 Hour Cream gift sets.
The skin on your hands can generally withstand higher concentrations of active ingredients than your face so it's a good opportunity to use up products that maybe didn't agree with your face.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Hey All,
Can I join you? Am trying to reduce my spending to help get me debt free and I know that toiletries is one of my bad areas. My particular weaknesses are the Body Shop and Avon. I have an order due from Avon next week which is another £18 worth of stuff!!! Seriously I have so many face masks / body scrubs / nail polishes etc. Prob too late to join in this month's challenge, but I'm going to have a good look thru the cupboards, make a list of what I've got and try to start using it up!! Will subscribe to thread so I can get inspiration!

Flis, totally understand what you mean about Avon - it's very convenient and I like the girl who comes round so I always tend to buy a little something: aiming to stick to Avon for the general stuff that is a necessary spend, shampoo, conditioner, son / OH's deodorant etc so I can still do my bit there but plug away with the stash for me (that's the plan anyway)!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Whilst this thread in encouraging me to use things up before opening a new one, I'm feeling more tempted to try out "cult" products and must haves that everyone raves about.
This is so true, I never watch QVC and now I'm v tempted to tune in and see what I'm missing!! :rotfl:
One UU tonight after Aqua Fit, Palmolive Soft & Gentle WBA - I see to have some kind of weird brand loyalty to Sure when it comes to deodorants but this does the job and smells nice, pretty sure its a bit cheaper too so may have to change my ways once the stash is done0 -
I'm off to PY(T)NM after I've got rid of the blue which is on there.
I'm going to have a nice pamper this evening in preparation for going to be drained of blood tomorrow. Just need to remember to let them get it from my left arm tomorrow as it failed miserably last time they tried my right arm. Not looking forward to the pain though. Never mind, it's for the greater good and I might need some one day from someone else
