Recommend nice 7 seater car

  • We struggled to find a 7 seater with adequate boot space for a pram. Months of searching, test drives, economy reviews and pricing and we went back to Toyota for the Verso TR 2.0d. We have 4 children ranging from 12 to a baby and we manage to get a pram, shopping bags and a baby bag in - best 7 seater out there for the money.

This is also one of the few that you can get multiple child seats side by side in AND still use the seatbelts!!!

If you want to use all 7 seats and a pram you need something larger than any 7 seater on the market. i800 is your best bet but for price and reliability we will not go anywhere other than Toyota!

Can't argue with any of the above answers, but a few thoughts...

Why/how often are you going to use seats 6 & 7? Important Q. cos if it's for elderly grandparents, are they going to be able to get into the rearmost seats with child car seats installed in the middle row? In the new Galaxy , for example, you can't! The middle row of seats don't slide forward without the back of the seat folding down onto the squab(think that's what the bottom bit of the seat is called), and you can't do that with a child seat attached.

Chrysler G.Voyager has LOADS of room, but won't be economical to run , so it depends how many miles p.a. you drive.

Also Kia Sedona roomy, but reliability reports aren't always good.

If seats 6&7 are for occasional use, then the Volvo XC90 is a lovely car (and it does feel like driving a CAR and not a van).

We ended up buying a VW Sharan (not the new model) for flexibility, reasonable amount of room, economy and hopefully reliability. There is just room for a twin buggy in the boot with all 7 seats in (though we usually use the car with 6 seats). But lifting those full size seats in & out isn't something I look forward to, with my back!
