  • Hi MacG, just popping by to check how you are getting on. Have you managed to fit your running in?

We are managing at least two with a coupld of dog jogs as I am calling them. Haven't moved passed step 1 of shred it yet, but still plugging on.

Hope all is well with you. Best wishes Tilly x

  • Hi McG......hope you are okay and keeping going! Admire you for the park runs, I only manage the gym 5 days a week...but I do go at 6.30 am every morning.
Look forward to hearing how you have been saving this week.

    Hello!
Sorry I've been absent for so long! Life has been moving at a million miles an hour again - work, kids, house, running etc etc.

PLUS I've been approached about a new position. It's a VERY exciting role, but involves more travel than I currently do which is off-putting as little DD goes into meltdown when I go away for longer than a couple of nights - so the kids and lifestyle balance are my priority.
It is tough when you have to admit you can no longer commit to chaining yourself to the office 12 hours a day, but I'm being straight from the start. I'm willing to work at home when the kids are asleep - but the truth is, at the moment they come first. You really can't have it all....

Anyway, I'll keep you all posted. :)

Moneywise - still plodding. I have succumbed to some sale buys - nothing too extravagant but we seem to have been paying out for house things and car things (mine is in the garage right now ). Still taking lunch to work, watching the pennies and meal planning like a good 'un.

Running is great :j I have also gone back to 30 Day Shred (love Jillian). I'm marshalling 2 races this weekend George's Mum, so no running, but did 10k on tuesday on a very hilly course.
Didn't get into the GNR this year :( but a friend has encouraged (or dared) me to enter the Great Langdale HM in the Lakes - scary, but I am tempted! :D

Right, better go, as the house is a tip, then I have to collect my car and race back to wait for the new gas meter to be fitted. That *still* has not been resolved - sigh.

Will catch up with the diaries later - hope everyone's well :) x

    So bl00dy cross!!!
Waited in between 1 and 6pm AGAIN for Transco to fit the new meter and once again they did not show!:mad::mad:
  • Good to hear from you - and that you're still on track, keeping up those good habits.

I can honestly say I have never been to a gym more than 5 times a ..... year :rotfl:! Well done George's mum for your dedication! And macgirl/hypno for all your running.

New position sounds very exciting, I have everything crossed that you manage to make it work for you.

Grrr to transco, give them a piece of your mind!

I had a similar Transco issue, they wrote to me to say they were coming on x date, never turned up then a week later I got a nasty letter saying they'd been on z date and I wasn't in. When I phoned they denied the x date, I was so mad I drove to work on my day off to fax the letter just to prove a point!! never heard from them since and they've never swapped my meter lol...

That's quite depressing Brodiebobs :( I'm in the process of tracking down the name of their MD and will send a choicely worded letter!

Decided against the new job, too much Far East travel involved and those days are over for me, my kids are young and need me. The money would have been nice though :D

Happily I have been offered something else at work though - no extra money yet, but if I do a good job (and I will!), then that will come.

All's well, just really busy so never seem to get chance to catch up on here. Still making the regular OP's and praying for DH's dividend to show up soon. We are taking the kid's to my parent's house in Spain for Spring Bank and have a wedding in Ireland in April to pay for, but after that's all paid for the rest will go towards the mortgage.

I'll keep you posted. Hope everyone's well and marching on towards Mortgage freedom! :)
