  • Hope I didn't offend with my 'day off' comment - I just know by the sounds of it you are hectic monday to thursday with work and so friday is your day to tackle all the house stuff.

the craft room sounds great, and I hope you will post a picture when its done (maybe even a before one?). We were going to use our new back room as a craft room - but now am thinking we'll use it as a nursery, as we may move up to the room next to it, for a time at least.

Hope DH got home ok in the end. Must admit I have never watched Nanny McPhee. is it any good?

My apologies, I'm just having a bad week, will give myself a talking to and sort myself out :o

Oh big hug xxx Is the grief from home or work? I work 3.5 days at the mo. Strangely, since becoming a single parent, people seem to have assumed I will return to work full time. For my own sanity, I will not be doing that. My job is full on and involves working at home just to keep my head above water, my eldest has a great social diary with karate, football and visits to / from friends, my youngest is 2 yrs old (nuff said!) plus the usual run of housework - full time? I think I do full time and a half already  And I won't even start on lack of practical / financial support from the other parent or the cost of childcare.......:o :D

Hope you enjoy your weekend hun :A

Having your own space/craft room sounds great. I'm with Orange too and my i-phone contract is due to expire in April but i've been with them for years so think I am long overdue a great offer/bill reduction!

re: excema, a friend of mine recommended 'Dream cream' by Lush, I don't think they deliver though an our nearest branch is 12 miles away so will be a while before we try it for DD. She has suddenly developed it on her inner elbows and it looks so sore.

I didn't know you'd become a single parent Hopeful. Hope that you are coping ok?
I think that is the hardest job in the World so you have my full admiration :A

Cath, I haven't heard of the Lush cream, I will look out for it but so far our new regime seems to be working. Although DD and I did the Parkrun this morning and by the time we'd got home her eczema had flared up again, aggravated by the cold air.

The run was nice and did me good! Then I took DD to ballet and had a coffee and catch up with a good friend.

I've done 30 mins of decluttering in the cellar - including refolding and packing away our new tent which was about 10 sizes bigger than the bag, when folded:eek: - at least I burnt a few calories! And found some good ebayables too.

Also, I have a new nephew :j He was born in the hallway after a speedy 2 hour labour!!! The perfect delivery and he is indeed perfect :)

Oh wow!!! How exciting :T Hope everyone is well :)

Thank you for your kind words. Other than a complete DIY disaster today  I am fine. I really need to stop trying to be Little Miss Independent :o Life hasn't turned out as I planned, but I am hoping that isn't a bad thing. After some very difficult times, things can only get better. I've discovered I am stronger than I thought and that I have some amazing friends and family :A

Life rarely turns out as planned does it? But as you say Hopeful, when our backs are against the wall we often surprise ourselves with our hidden reserves and are able to cope. Being independent is good! It will give you confidence and self satisfaction, so long as you know when to ask for help when you need it.

That includes virtual help too ;)
    Take care x

    Good evening

Nothing much to report. No non-essential spending:T
Sadly no extra op's - but I keep telling myself something is better than nothing and keep going on the calculator to remind myself just how many years we're knocking off :D

We for a run yesterday with the club on snow capped hills! Some of the ledges - yes NARROW ledges were pretty scary, but the reflection of the snow was nice and it made for an exhilarating morning.
Then we went to a local gallery which has a lovely homeware shop (no spends though :A) and had a coffee and cake there, which was lovely.

My sister sent me an e-book about eczema, which basically says it's cured through a more-or-less raw food diet. Not exactly user friendly for a 7 year old, but we've decided to go back to daily juicing and see if that helps... So £12 spent today on fruit and veg to mince (including 2 bags of whoopsied organic carrots :money:), which should push the grocery budget back up nicely! If it eases DD's woes, then it is worth the money and rigmarole.

Hope all's well and everyone has had a good MSE Monday :)

I'll be interested to know if the juicing helps. My little one's eczema is getting worse, but I'm hoping that's just the cold weather. I'm worried he will be left with a lot of scarring on his legs. It's v frustrating. At the age of 2 the poor thing knows to ask for cream if he starts to get itchy.
