    That's what I like to hear :)
We stopped off for some photos outside on our way to the Grand Canyon last time, but I'm overly excited about going inside.

I don't suppose you can remember who you did the tour with? There seems to be dozens of companies who go there, and it may just be a case of picking someone good from TripAdvisor, but if you've got any recommendations that would be ace!

I do..Ferf's Hoover Dam Tours, Inc. :) We always have a hire car...

Im looking to buy tickets for O cirque du soleil. There is currently 20% off code. is this the best i can expect for march 2012? or better to hold on for something better

There aren't often good offers for O. I think the best I have seen is 25% off so 20% would be OK.

A suggestion for an addition to Page 1. LV TAxi fare finder

    http://www.taxifarefinder.com/main.php?city=LV

** Edit - I've just tried a couple of routes and don't agree with it as it took the strip to get from the airport to the Carriage House instead of Swenson to Koval. Then I tried the CH to Bally's and it took Audrie which is a dead end at the back of Bally's!

Luci there already is a taxi guide in post 2.

    this one http://vegas.taxiwiz.com/?lang=en

I think they are much the same

Months since i was last on here...

Anyway. Everything is booked for our June trip, just looking at extra stuff now.

Has anyone done a Hoover Dam tour before? Any recommended?
Im a bit of an Engineering nerd, so anything full of technical talk or sights is good for me :)

I have done the hoover dam tour, we just drove to the dam and went on next available tour, It was great.

Dont know if you can still just turn up and go though as it was a few years ago

I have a little side trip planned for March when we are in Vegas. I will need 70 tier points to obtain BA Silver status when we return, so I am flying to Los Angeles for the afternoon to get them. Going with AA,(but using BAEC number) out in First and back in economy. Will only be gone 3 hours, just enough time for SWMBO to do her Sephora shopping. Even saving on taxi fares as she will drop me off and pick me up from LAS. And the cost.....£230.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Off to Vegas on 19th Feb for my 13th visit since '94.

Had originally planned to stay Downtown this time, and went for the Plaza to see what it was like after the recent renovations.

I'm not a big gambler, but I usually have a flutter on the slots. Decided to log on to my Total Rewards account, which has a balance go '0' points. Went to the reservations page and put in my dates, and to my great surprise they offered me the 5 nights completely free at the Rio:).

So the reservation with the Plaza has been cancelled, and the Rio it is. I know it's slightly off the Strip, but for $0, I'm not complaining.

So for anyone with a TR account, it may be worth checking out to see what they offer you. Several of the Caesars hotels offered me comped nights, but only the Rio fitted my dates.

Thank you - proof that you don't have to have any rewards credits in order to potentially have comped nights...so using up any reward credits you have before you leave (if you aren't going to be back in 6 months, so you do not lose them) does not mean you will not have any comped rooms available next time. :)

so my hubby looks at youtube videos to get himself in the mood for Vegas and he's currently getting prepared for our upcoming trip - this is our favorite so far - it's better if you don't read the caption/comments...and yes, she is playing $4.80/spin, but still.
