  • Hello,

My partners and me are off to Las Vegas for Christmas. We've just been told however by First Choice that they don't advise customers to use their cash card because it's not accepted at many places in Las Vegas. Can anyone tell me the best and safest way to take money over there?

    Many thanks

I had a cash passport type card a few years ago and had no problem using it in an ATM. However I didn't make any purchases on it as I had read of problems with the transaction being taken from the card twice.

The only reason I got it was that the travel agent was giving $100 free if you loaded it with $1000, otherwise they are poor value for money due to the low exchange rate.

We never get cash in advance and use the Halifax Clarity card in ATM's when we get there as there are no fees and a low interest rate. As you get full Interbank rate it is cheaper than getting USD in the UK.

i hope so too... we're looking at VA flights to Miami at easter... a couple of months back I could have got £420pp flights, gutted I didn't get them! though to be fair, at the time we weren't sure it's where we wanted to go.

I'm thinking of booking for Jersey Boys at Paris but know nothing about the theatre. Can someone give me a heads up as to where the seats to avoid are and whether if I sit within 10 rows of stage it will cause crick in my poor old neck. TIA

As far as I understood it, Tuesday is not on the weekend:D
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Some of us need to get ready for Christmas. Or go on holiday elsewhere.

    I'll be off on Friday.

here's the seating plan, we had seats towards the rear of the front half and they were great. from memory the stage is a bit higher than the front row, so probably not the most comfortable seats. if i could choose, i would have seats at the rear of the front section (orchestra/stalls i think they call it). seats on the outside aren't too bad either, the stage is pretty wide.

we got a good deal on tickets through bestofvegas and looks like there's a good deal on there at the moment for upgrade seats.

    Guys.

Regulars will know that I took over from Trets as the poster pf this thread being able to amend the first post etc.

Would someone else like to do it next year and maybe amend/update it put it in their own style etc etc.

One thing that maybe needs updating are the GrandCanyon travel tips as the question is asked many times.

Although I do wonder how many people read the first few posts

I will have to work out how to get it to anyone who volunteers, but cant be that hard.
i'd be more than happy to give it a go, might need the support (for content at least!) of some of the true veterans (i'm only a 3-timer so far!).

i'd probably look at doing this over the christmas hols, so if admin-y things need to be done, or questions to be asked, time is marching on ;)
