WEATHERmynameistallulah wrote: »Another Vdara question for costingbunny/ kroberts please - how busy/ noisy did you find the pool? Possible to get a chair?
We only went down to the pool one morning so can't comment on the whole of the week. I was expecting it to be busy but hardly anyone down there and a lot of empty beds. We were down at about 10am and stayed a couple of hours. It was very hot0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYIs there a supermarket near Vdara?
If you will have a car there are a lot of options not far away at all...if not, there aren't really any supermarkets within walking distance but there are other options for bits and pieces as kroberts says.
There may be options on the bus (thinking Vons on Tropicana, maybe) but not sure if it would be worth the faffing depending on how much you wanted to get, how much you had to carry and how far you had to carry it to/from the bus stops.
We usually hit WalMart for our in-room drinks and snackery (in addition to our stuff we bring home, and the coffee maker we always buy for the room)...we normally buy a slab of water and a couple of 12 packs of sodas and keep the bulk in the boot, and bring some in as and when.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Can't comment on the pool as we ran out of time to try it! As for food, the market at Vdara seems expensive so we didn't buy there. There's a Walgreens in Miracle Mile opposite at PH where we got cold beers, sarnies & crisps. Also used the Pampas restaurant at Miracle Mile for breakfast. Was about $6 for steak & eggs or a massive omlette plus cheap bloody Mary's & mimosas. Mmmmmmm0

VALUE FOR MONEYGreat pics, we will b in Vdara in 8 weeks and can't wait.
Any breakfast / dinner recomendations appreciated?
Is there a supermarket near Vdara?
Thanks
if you just want a coffee/pastry, then Market Vdara isn't too bad, if not a bit pricey. head into the back of Bellagio or across to the Aria to Jean Philippe for THE most amazing pastries and lovely coffees. otherwise the Aria breakfast buffet is really nice, you can be there in about 2mins from the Vdara entrance.
Edit - PS there's a CVS between Aria and Monte Carlo, or a quick convenience store in the back of the Aria, near the Vdara entrancemynameistallulah wrote: »Another Vdara question for costingbunny/ kroberts please - how busy/ noisy did you find the pool? Possible to get a chair?
the pool doesn't really get noisy we've found - you get a couple of kids there, but it's more of a couples/professional hotel so you don't really get families staying there. they do play music, which might get a bit annoying if not's to your taste (it's contemporary chart kinda stuff). the pool can get busy around lunchtime, but we've never had a problem getting a regular sunbed.
thanks for the pics! was interested to see how much the Cosmo cut off the view, but does'n't look too bad0 -

I like Whole Foods at Town Square, that's easily doable on the bus. Vons would include a half hour walk if using public transport.0 -

Is the Walgreens in Miracle Mile new? There was only an ABC store when we were there last year I think0 -

That's what you get for watching TV and trying to write on here! You're totally right - it's an ABC store in MM - there is a Walgreens down by Bills I think which is cheaper and has lots more choice.
Also, Vdara-to-be guests - no coffee makers in basic rooms but I took a travel kettle as I'm a tea drinker. Be sure to request robes and slippers when you get to your room - great to lounge around it after a hard day walking/gamblin/drinking.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!0 -

I always forget about Whole Foods being a supermarket.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

think the closest Walgreens is across the strip and just a bit further south than CVS...not quite across the street from each other but not too far.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYThere is a large Walgreen's on the corner opposite the Harley Davidson Cafe close to PH now. It opened earlier this year.0
