Just wondering if anyone can offer some advice regarding dropping off a hired car in Vegas

It is giving me the option to 'drop off' at my hotel. Is this wise?

Meaning, if I choose this option instead of McCarran will someone inspect the car with me for damage so if there is any dispute I know about it at the time?

I guess what im really asking is am i more likely to be scammed if I drop off at the hotel?

Any input would be gratefully recieved, thanks

I've never heard of any reason not to (till you mentioned it which got me thinking :rotfl:)

we've hired a car plenty of times and always returned it to hotel (only been to the airport rental place once when we had problems with our car and we were advised to take it there to swap it over)

we've never had any issues - and it could certainly be a lot easier than faffing with getting a taxi etc

VALUE FOR MONEY

we prefer to drop off at the airport as then we are more in control of our timings on departure day...I live in utter fear of the taxi queues we saw once on one of our early trips - at Excalibur...the taxi queue at whatever time it was one morning was astonishing - think it was the start of CES, but for anyone strolling out to get a taxi to the airport, it would have been bad, bad news.

if you do go for hotel drop off the times are more limited, not sure what time you're due to pick the car up at LAX...I'm not sure if there is any sort of out of hours drop off at the hotels, but wouldn't sound like you would like that option.

I picked up my car at Wynn on my last trip and dropped it off at PH. Not only was the service excellent (Hertz) but I received a triple upgrade to a Premium SUV (Cadillac Escalade) which would have cost a fortune if I had booked it.

Next trip in a few weeks, am picking up at Wynn again but this timing returning at the airport.

The only issue using the hotel rental desk is the hours, which are not 24/7 as the airport.

well, finally booked for august..... its mad, virigin flight prices this morning were £1019 each. lunchtime £853.00 each, tonight £958.00 each. happened to look on Lastminute.com, and admitedly didnt get my first choise hotel, but 10 nights in TI came in at 1672.14!! Ideally we wanted two hotels, but this was a massive £2800.00!! I am kind of happy deep down, we stayed at TI when we got married in vegas, so brings back happy memories......... thansk all for all advice/input...... I am sure I will be asking more questions in the next couple of weeks, with the first being, "is the little fat elvis still singing"???
