Thank you for the tips, especially the suggestion to split the stay between two hotels. That way I've found THE Hotel at Mandalay becomes available again for part of my trip so we're looking at half there and half at The Mirage. We'll be able to experience the south strip and then the centre which I think seems like a good idea.

I got a price from Lowcostusa of about £2,500 total for two people. Virgin's price for the exact same thing (same flight) was quoted at just under £3,000 and that was apparently with 10% off!

I think I'm going to book with Lowcostusa today unless anyone has any other pointers? I've heard they are safe to book with both on line and from a friend, and I don't think there's anywhere that can beat their price - Virgin said they couldn't! Also I checked with Lowcostusa and all the things like resort fees are included - only transfers that aren't but we can just get a taxi.

    Thanks so much everyone

Smallpo have you priced the flights and hotels seperately? that may be cheaper.

Great choice though to stay at THE Hotel and Mirage

Hi, I have been pricing up hotels in LV for 5th Sept, 7 nights and 5th Oct for 7 nights and the prices for October seem to be nearly double!! Is there something going on in Vegas early October that I should be aware of?

    News re: peepshow.

Holly Madison bids farewell to PEEPSHOW on 12/30/12, but the show will go on.

Apparently, Mirage was $39 a night recently according to Flyertalk.

8th October is a bank holiday, but wouldn't think it would impact rates that much...there is a 30,000 person convention from 8th - 11th and several smaller ones (4000, 5000, 8000), maybe the sum total of them is bumping rates up...

there could be something big going on but so far I can't find it.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Totally agree it's worth checking...lowcostusa does seem to have some good deals for higher-end properties so maybe it works out the better deal, but would be worth checking and keeping options open until closer the time.
