VALUE FOR MONEYThanks for the great suggestions.
Nvh.....the trunki is for 4yrs and up,my sisters baby will only be 9 months so a bit too old for her but I will show it to her for future use!
Elantan....I just presumed it was either or on the 1 child booking but can look into it further. We are palnning on hiring a car seat with the car. It was just so baby didnt have to go to carhire place after the flight. We travel as a group and a few of us pick up the car whilst the others grab a taxi straight to the house.
Thanks again, really appreciate the helpful suggestions, thought i might get a few..."don't take a baby to vegas" comments.
Its the wrong thread for those comments...I hope! If you had posted on vegasmessageboard it would have been a different story.
We have travelled as a group with babies and youngsters but cant remember what we did about child seats...sorry0 -
CASINOSWe started going to Vegas as a couple and left the children with grandparents then took the boys for the first time 3 yrs ago and we now have it as our main holiday as a family (including grandparents!).
The children love it,we stay off strip in a rented house for most of the time then stop in a hotel for a few nights (Cosmo this time).
The oldest is 14 now and is looking forward to being able to jump off the Strat this year, I hope he is not expecting me to join him!
An ideal year is we go for a week on our own then 2-3weeks with the kids, not managed it this year as grandma not being well but has been given the all clear so feels like a very special holiday this year with all of us.:T0 -
We have been to Vegas the past 2 years and have left the kids with their grandparents, but next year we are planning on doing LA, San Fran and Vegas so will be taking them with us, they will be 8 and 5. I was a bit worried about taking them to Vegas but after reading the last few posts feel a lot happier so thanks.0

VALUE FOR MONEYWe went last year. None of the "stars" were there when we went in. It was OK, but I certainly wouldn't have queued up to get in. Sometimes the queue gets quite long.0

we've just started getting into the show, better late than never! maybe one of those trips to do early in the morning, when we're up and about before it gets busier0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYYou're right. We are glad we went, but don't think we'd bother again.
They sell a lot of T-shirts and other stuff with their faces on as well as the other general items.0 -

Hello - just looking for any advice on booking my first trip to Vegas. I have been reading through the info on these threads but have a few specific Qs.
We're looking to go for 10 or 11 nights from London to Vegas and can travel between 1 and 4 September 2012.
We originally wanted to book The hotel at Mandalay but it now seems to have sold out for our dates.
So my questions...
As we had originally planned to stay at the all suite The hotel - do you think we will be disappointed with a standard 'deluxe 550' at mandalay bay?
I know it's at the end of the strip - do you think that's a bad idea for first timers?
I've been looking at BA, Virgin and Low Cost USA sites for deals and the best I have is below - what do you think?
01 Sept, 11 nights, BA direct booking LHR to Vegas
Mandalay Bay Deluxe 550 - 2 adults
£1,264 per person
The main reason I'm asking what you think of this price is that the last price I got for similar dates and nights to The hotel at Mandalay wasn't much more - £1,386 - and I remember when I originally looked that The hotel was about £250 per person more than Mandalay bay, so I feel like I'll be paying a similar price for the lower grade hotel / room???
I hope you don't mind all the questions - any advice will be greatful received as we're new to Vegas and are looking to go to celebrate our 10 year anniversary
Thank you!0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYI would be really surprised if The Hotel is sold out this far in advance.
Looking at their calendars they are closed to arrivals on your arrival date not sold out...but VERY expensive on the Saturday night ($330) so there may be a concert at Mandalay Bay or some other event that is pushing prices up for the Saturday.

For 11 nights, I would split the trip I think...maybe consider staying somewhere mid-strip for the first 5 nights and The Hotel the last 6 or something.
I can't tell if you are booking a flight+hotel with BA or not, but may be worth pricing up flights separate to hotels if you haven't done so already.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
