VALUE FOR MONEYsmallpo - you could consider the Vdara if you're after a 'suite experience', a bit more central and a lovely hotel, usually with some good offers on. even the entry level rooms are suites0

I agree! It's a similar price for yr dates on lowcostusa. We had the 'basic' suite which ended up on a very high floor with a view of the Bellagio fountains. All suite rooms, spa, non smoking & centrally located. Fab.0 -
Anyone ate at the buffet in the Aria?
Any good?0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYBuffet in Aria was good, but that was in Oct/Nov last year.0

VALUE FOR MONEYThis may or may not be of interest, but I remember reading something about Aria having wine and champagne bumps available at their buffet. I think this excludes their weekend dinner buffet - or maybe it's wine rather than champagne. I also seem to remember reading that they plank a lobster on your table at the weekend (higher priced) dinner buffet. Doesn't appeal to us being vegetarians. We're currently in a spanish cerveceria and they've been trying to ply us with strange meatly looking tapas that probably most people would enjoy though!!!
Smallpo, hope you find a good deal soon. We are going on 31st August, although our first 2 nights are in LA. I'm trying to work out what night is problematic for you - we got 2-4th at Green Valley Ranch for $160 total plus tax (including $50 dining credit) 4-7th at Rio for $31 per night, then Carriage house for $550 ish total for 7-14th before returning to LA. Hoping that might help you gauge some good deals for the problematic date. The first Monday in September is always labor day, so that could be an issue. The middle weekend (around 15th maybe) there will be Mexican independance celebrations too, and the last few years there have been big fights around that weekend too. I'm sure you'll get plenty of recommendations on here if you state your requirements.0 -

If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

Had a look at their website and during weekdays their breakfast 8 to 11 (I think) it's $17 but add another $7 for unlimited champagne or bloody marys! Told Vicki (my wife) and she said we'll go for breakfast and end up back in bed sleeping it off. Can't wait for the end of September when we leave.0 -

we went to the pool and let it digest...
the time difference works in our favour here, we're up and about pretty early so get to breakfast early, then have a few hours by the pool to recover and it's only midday0 -
We went to the Aria buffet when it first opened and thought it was excellent so went a couple of times.
We went back the following year (last year?) and it wasn't a patch on how it had been as a lot of items had been cut. Originally there was hand carved lamb, pork and gammon, but when we went back there were only two choices.
If you hadn't been previously you would probably still think it was a good buffet, but we noticed a huge change.0
