What are the best nightclubs and what is the cover charge for clubs there? I take it mega pricey and real expensive drinks?

XS at Encore is good. There is a drink called 'Black Pearl' which is a mere $10,000 a pop. (They sell about 2 a month apparently).

So for $150 + tax and tip on $350 which comes to $230ish you get entry to Cathouse and 1 bottle of spirit and mixers. You have to pay bar rate for anymore bottles.
Not such a good deal now is it.
they seem to have cleared some of it up a bit now... the wording of the deal definitely (to me) now reads as one bottle, and they've also clarified its' tax + tip on the $150 value, and not the 'menu' value :)
My apology for the confusion, the gratuity and tax are calculated based upon the discounted value of the bottle ($150). I hope this helps
  • Are the Encore nightclubs open mid week? We are staying Tuesday to Thursday and am slightly worried about reviews of it being a very noisy hotel.

Spent one night at the Mandalay bay last year and didn't get much sleep because of the club on the top floor. Had a 5 hour drive to the Grand Canyon south rim early the following morning so wasn't best pleased.

we have stayed at Encore a few times and have never heard anything from the clubs.

XS is in the esplanade area anyway - not really near the hotel bit...not sure when Surrender nightclub is open but again it has never been an issue for us...never had any noise issue at all so interesting if it's said to be a noisy hotel...where are you seeing the reviews?

OK, I looked up Surrender and Wed-Sat 10:30pm to closing, whenever that is...I guess that we're never really there in the summer when I suppose it may be more active but have never really noticed anything...it's probably the most chilled hotel/casino we have stayed at in Vegas, overall....thinking about it, our only real memory of any of these places (we do not go, no interest) is laughing at the people stood in the queue outside XS desperate to get in...laughing to ourselves, not actually at them...different strokes and all...but we just don't get it.

I'm considering booking Bellagio for 4 nights (Mon to Thurs) from 1 Oct.

Best price I can find is £518 room only with Lastminute - any other recommendations of where to book?

Other consideration is Cosmopolitan which is £424 with Vivastay

    Thanks

Bit early for any offers yet -It's probably worth signing up for the mailing lists for both if you're restricted to just these two hotels.

Aria has similar prices as Belagio but with $100 room credit for your dates

I have found Aria for £284 with Tripsta - how does this compare to the others in terms of quality? Second trip to Vegas & stayed at Venetian last time.

Going with friends who insist on high end - but there's so much choice in Vegas!

seems to have good rates for higher-end hotels.

I personally don't really rate Bellagio - it's nice, sure, but there are nicer...it is a good location though...we only stayed there one night (fountain view room) and it was nice as a one-off, but we didn't think it was worth the money...and would definately not think a non-fountain view room was worth it...but that is just us...we would choose Caesars Augustus Tower over Bellagio for the same sort of location...but people hear 'Bellagio' and want to stay there just because it's Bellagio.

Can't comment on the others as haven't stayed there but Cosmo is on our 'to try' list. we like Wynn/Encore but a bit far north for some.

Can only comment on the Cosmo as I haven't stayed at the others but our stay there was faultless. Beautiful hotel, great location. Amazing!

The Augustus Tower rooms at CP are better located and far nicer than the standard Belagio rooms -and the odds of the $20 (personally I'd do $50) trick yeilding a suite is pretty good.
