I was a silver for about 10 years and a gold for one in the days when I had a lot of business travel. In all that time I only had one op-up! Reason I want to get back to silver is free seat selection. Cost me 96 Euros to select my favourite 64k for the LHR-LAS sector.
Ouch on the cost of choosing UD seat, disgrace isn't it.
We must have been lucky, became Silver and our last trip got OP/UP'ed from WT+ to J on outbound and return to LAS.
Anyway, for future ref. what sort of transfer is there from LCY to LHR, what is recomended
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I think WT+ op ups are more common due to the size of the WT+ cabin. I always book CW.

DLR to canary wharf, then jubilee to Green Park, then Piccadilly to LHR.
  • Any tips for getting over jetlag when you arrive home from Vegas/US?

Took more than a few days to get over it last time. This time we arrive back in Manchester at 9am and then I'll have the following day off before being back in work.

We normally arrive home in the morning/early afternoon and have the next day off from work...we normally fall prey to a nap the afternoon we get home but keep it to a few hours and then do our best to stay up the rest of the day until our normal bedtime...and get up at our normal time the next day and try as hard as possible to stay up until at least 8 or 9...bonus (?) is that normally I'm at work very, very early the first day back to start catching up.

I just think that doing everything you can to get back on your normal schedule as quick as you can is worth it, even though it's really hard.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I cannot remember if anyone here is as big a fan of the Asian Nachos at Grand Lux as we are, but if anyone is, this recipe is really, really close...just tried it today.

pretty much this, we usually land mid-morning (the 4pm ish VA flight from LV) ... I just let my body do what it what it wants to do that day (afternoon nap, etc.) then go to bed at a normalish time (10pm-1am). wake up the next day whenever my body wants to get up the next day and fall into the usual routine from then.

We booked WT+ for the same money and will hope for an OP/UP or MFU opening up nearer the date

I've booked WT+ for our BA flights in Sep. Can I ask what OP/UP and MFU mean? I assume they are types of upgrade but curious to know what they are and how to spot them incase it may apply to us at some point.

    Thanks
