SHOWSDid you try costing this as DUS-LAS-LON -sometimes there's not much in it (although nothing to stop you checking your bags just back to LCY as you'll "need your bags to freshen up in London" -and "miss" the last leg -unless you need the extra avios of course.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

CASINOSHi everyone....
I have also fancied hotel 32 in the Monte Carlo
has anyone got experience of this?
:T
Myself and my hubby stayed in Hotel 32 last August, I got a deal that was promoted on twitter, the staff at Monte Carlo often have different special deals and they all try and get the most bookings.
I booked a suite as a surprise for hubby. He knew we were staying at Monte Carlo but he thought in a Monaco Suite. He did not know until we came out of the airport and he saw the limo driver standing with our name written on a hotel 32 board.
I emailed to arrange the limo pick up and got a response within hours, our baggage was delayed and the limo driver was fine about waiting while we reported the delay. Service was excellent every step of the way from the bell desk taking over sorting out getting the one suitcase that was missing, the concierge getting me a toothbrush and hair brush and some other toiletries when she found out I was without them.
Lovely cheese, cracker and fruit platter waiting for us in our room and nice big fridge. Extremely handy to be able to grab coffee and breakfast from the lounge, soft drinks were always available and the cocktails got the night started.
We stayed in 3 hotels on our 9 day trip and would do the same again, we stayed in hotel 32, the venetian, and planet hollywood 3 nights in each. Moving around the strip worked for us and we will do it again, and will be staying in hotel 32 again.0 -
I noticed a few flights recently where people are skirting the UK air passenger tax by going via odd places, e.g. £265 return to Tokyo via Italy and Moscow!!! Also the Avois deal via Germany.
So, what great taxbeater routes are there to Vegas, and what sites are they on e.g. lufthansa.de rather than lufthansa.comillegitimi non carborundum0 -

it is a dangerous game missing out on the last leg. By rights AA/BA could come after you for the fare difference, and you would almost certainly lose the TP's for the whole trip. Then there is the possibility that you could have an audit done on your BAEC account.
Even I wouldn't do that
PS I already looked at dropping out the last leg and it was over £2,000The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
CASINOSjust got a great deal in business class to Las Vegas for August.
Have to start the trip from Dusseldorf to get the fare (using 4500 avios +£13.50 to get there) then:
DUS-LHR-LAS-JFK-LCY-LHR-DUS
All in business class on BA except Las-jfk which is first class on AA. Get to try the all business class BA flight to from New York to London City on the way back.
Cost £1220 + gets enough BA tier points for silver membership. Equivalent business class fare on BA from LHR for same dates is £3600. Had to book on American Airlines website for this price even though most of the flights are BA operated.
Staying 3 nights at Wynn and 3 nights at PH.
Will you have to spend a night in DUS on the way out and back, and what is the transfer from LON/LHR?
We looked at this flight but the 2 above things put us off, we take too much luggage:eek:
We booked WT+ for the same money and will hope for an OP/UP or MFU opening up nearer the dateThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. that's just not correct - especially the bit about 'almost certainly losing TPs'. Of course I wouldn't do it () but I don't know anyone who has ever been chased about this let alone losing their points or being asked to pay a fare difference. If you look on various flyertalk threads on the subject, only serial offenders have a risk of this happening.

No - don't need to spend night in DUS. Flying out to DUS on avios the afternoon before, and then back on the same plane to start my trip. As the DUS-LHR leaves within 24 hours of the LHR-LAS, it doesn't count as a stopover and I can then go home for the night and go back to LHR the following afternoon. So I don't have to take any luggage to DUS (but I am not checking any in).0 -
SHOWShello....I've been reading this tread with intrest, and was hoping for some advice.I will be staying in Vegas for 4 nights in october(7-11),as part of a trip going to Canada, las vegas and San Fran'.
Well I have been looking at hotels and now im no snob when it comes to hotels,i want a clean bed for the night, shower and tv to watch while im getting ready in the morning,i have no intrest in pools or what the casino is like(no offence to anyone who does).Anyway i have 3 on the short list mainly cause they're cheap and have no resort fee,but wondering what others may think of them, and i have read lots of the reviews. Also does anyone know what the breakfast would be?
Imperial Palace delux room with breakfast-£148 in total
Bills Gamblin Hall classic room-£141 in total
Flamingos delux room with breakfast-£155 in total
At the moment Bills is kinda winning even though it without breakie, just cause i like the idea of getting out of hotel without a long walk.
thanks for any help0 -

Thanks for the other info, as we don't live in London and have lots of luggage it would mean a hotel a couple of nights somewhere along the line, so not good for us, but traveling alone it is a cracking deal.
And you watch those elusive never happening OP/UP's happening when you reach SilverThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. CASINOSBut it is correct, just bacause you have never heard of anyone having it done doesn't mean it hasn't. It is in the terms when you make the booking on AA. But what do I know. Just warning other people about the possible implications.
....
And you watch those elusive never happening OP/UP's happening when you reach Silver
I know it's in the terms, just saying that of the people I know who have done it, none have ever been questioned. Of course there is always the risk.
I was a silver for about 10 years and a gold for one in the days when I had a lot of business travel. In all that time I only had one op-up! Reason I want to get back to silver is free seat selection. Cost me 96 Euros to select my favourite 64k for the LHR-LAS sector.0 -

Any of those 3 will do the job, as for bfast, there isnt any included with any hotels in Vegas unless you can find a specific deal(ie Cosmo).
IP would be closest to Mcdonalds or Dennys if you want to walk somewhere close and you dont want to buffet. there are lots more options for bfast though0
