How exciting! I love pictures like this! Thank you for sharing.

It was exciting especially as it happened within about 10 minutes of our first visit to the casino after arrival

I had put $20 in a machine and cashed out $7, I gave the ticket to my wife and sat down to play holdem at a table...within 5 minutes she was back with that $426 ticket after 2 spins....we couldnt believe it....I had to leave the card table and go and take pic:D

have played tourneys..unsuccsefully:( Usually play cash games in or around where I am staying.

have played No Limit but it gets to scary, played a lot of 2/4 limit in the Flamingo this time. I think its the other players that make the game rather than where you play, playing limit should limit losses but of course means you prob wont win a lot. I came out ahead over the week and had a bit of fun

IMHO cash game ($1/2 NL) at Mirage was soft soft soft......full of drunk sales reps, reloading every half an hour or so.

Friendliest tourney was Tropicana.....usually 10-20 players.

    Re Car Hire

If booking through carhire 3000, check that the car size you are booking has a 2 door and 4 door price, then book the 2 door.

I booked a 2 door full size, the rental was with Dollar and they dont have any full size 2 door cars, so saved a few pounds.

I wanted a charger, but they are few and far between now at LAS with Dollar as apparently they kept breaking down so most have been sold and they are not replacing them, the only full size they had when I arrived as a mtisubishi and a nissan, I waited a bit and they found me a charger.

If you hire a luxury car with dollar they have Camaros and Challengers, so I may do that next time, I did ask for an upgrade to a challenger but they wanted $40 a day as an express member or $80 a day for non member, which is way more than booking a luxury before you go.

haven't stayed there, but on-paper this seems quite a good deal if you can work it around your visit and don't mind staying off strip (and quite remote from other casinos??) for 2 nights:
    http://www.groupon.com/deals/g1g-palace-station-hotel-las-vegas

    - Two night stay for two adults; up to two kids stay free
    - $59 for a courtyard room, valid for Sunday–Wednesday check in
    - One breakfast buffet for two
    - $25 in gaming chips

not read the small print or anything but thought'd i'd give you all a flash of it

We actually went to Palace Station last trip for the first time after saying for years we should check it out...we won, so we liked it, but of the Station Casinos we have been to it would not be one we would consider staying at...it wasn't bad, but it seemed a bit more tired than their other properties, seemed to attract an older crowd (not a bad thing, necessarily, but it was noticable) and had a lot of older machines...some new ones too, but seemed a lot more older machines than some places.

Hubby had a great win on a Mystical Mermaid machine - about $400 if memory serves, so we liked the place overall. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Honeymoon to Vegas is only 8 days away!! :j (I am even more excited as it is now snowing??!!! outside and I can't wait for the Vegas sunshine)

We are wanting to go see Matt Goss at Ceasars Palace - anyone else been?? Does anyone know if any discount codes for tickets via TicketMaster? I believe they are sometimes available via Tix4Tonight but we don't really want to gamble on them not being available and then missing out.

We would also like to book a limo for an hour during our stay, to pick us up, go to the Welcome sign for a quick photo and then be dropped off at a restuarant. I've been researching and believe Presidential Limos are good and cost $60 an hour. Has anyone used any other company and can recommend?

    Thanks!

I've seen Matt twice now in Vegas, the show is fantastic you will love it, I have always booked my tickets before I go as he only does shows on a friday and saturday night. Love the gossy room!!

    WEATHER
We have the majority of our dollars and traveller cheques having got a good deal with Sainsburys using our Nectar card. However my husband gets paid on Wednesday again - we fly out of Edinburgh on Wednesday at 9.30am, so its not possible to go anywhere for more currency before we go to the airport.

The airport exchange range is pretty awful ($1.45 when I checked yesterday, compared to the $1.57 we got at Sainsburys). Anyway we only want to change another few hundred pounds, would it be better to take the cash out at Edinburgh and get the rubbish rate - or wait till we get to the US and take it out in cash at an ATM? Weiging up the ATM charge against the better rate we would likely get? Thanks!

    Re $$$
I personally would take sterling and change in a casino . From memory the Luxor had one of the best exchange rates.
