WEATHERHotel advice please- for three nights Wynn, £325.00 or Venetian plus breakfasts for £362.00??What do you think? Or push the boat out for Mandarin?
We have booked Cosmo, Mandalay and Wynn for our upcoming trip, however after reading reviews / trip reports of Mandarin Oriental, I wish we had booked a few nights there - looks amazing!!Lucky wins - Rituals Beauty Advent Calendar; Starbucks Coffee & £20 Gift Card; Amazing Hen Weekend at Dunblane Hydro; Heat Magazine Book Bundle; Le Crueset Goodies :j
Wishing everyone some magic fairy pixie dust for luck!0 -

We haven't stayed at Venetian but have stayed at Wynn...based on what I've seen of the rooms at both, I would go for Venetian I think. MO may be great, but in general the higher cost is not really worth it to us.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Thanks, we also need a double double and generally it seems there are only kings. We stayed at Paris last time and loved it but I wanted somewhere different for a change. Interestingly lowcostusa was £100 more for the Venetian and room only no breakfast. As it's the last leg of our California trip think we will go with the Venetian as the rooms do look really nice and we will be out most of the day. We aren't really into casinos but I wouldn't mind having a go, the casino at the Venetian doesn't get a very good review however.0

I went and saw Bodies 2 or 3 years ago and was quite excited to see all the specimens.
We did get 2 for 1 tickets but i was hugely dissapointed.
I found some of it very interesting but the majority of it just looked the same (excuse my ignorance). Very clever tho.
At the end you will see smokers lungs with the chance to hold one for a play and a feel, (yep) and then if you decide to never smoke again they have a big perspex bin to throw them in.
bodies is really good if you are interested in human anatomy, and is much better if you have someone with you who does who can explain thing, I went with my mum gf and sister and gave a mini guided tour to them and a few people who joined in... I would gladly do this for anyone on the site too..just send me a plane ticket for the dates you are there and ill be there....;)0 -
Some positive feedback on the Marriott 'Pricematch' rate... though I appreciate it's not news on a match with the Cosmo... or for that matter, a Vegas hotel... or even a Californian hotel
Booked the Miami hotel for pretty much $1500 total having seen the same hotel listed at Alpharooms for £307 total.
Within hours they matched and knocked the 25% off too, (they may have ripped me off on this but I can't be bothered to work it out) so we're now paying just over $100 + taxes per night for the same 3 night stay.
Well chuffed - 99% sure it was an error on Alpharooms as the other room they had listed on there with pretty much the same description was coming in at £900 but but i'll happily take it - I also thought they may knock me back on the 'like for like' issue (as Alpha required a £60 deposit), but it was deemed ok
Sorry, I know it's naff all to do with anything Vegas (other than a tedious link), but thought it was worth mentioning all the same to give people some hope(+ i'm quite chuffed with myself as its the first time i've tried one of these pricematch things!)
Still waiting for contact back from Carhire3000 for a similar pricematch query on a car with them @ £360 versus same car via. ebookers @ £222. Stand nothing to gain from using Carhire3000 other than I'd just prefer to book them (but I do get 10% off another rental if they can't match). Disappointingly I submitted that query last Thursday... getting impatient!0 -
Hey everyone
Just under a week to go now before I'm out in Vegas!
Was just sorting my currency out but thought I'd pop on here to see what the regulars think is best.
I am going to change up a few hundred pounds into dollars before I go, the rest I planned on spending/withdrawing on my Halifax Clarity card - will be my first time using it, does anyone else use this card, particularly for cash withdrawals? I know its the best option to use for foreign currency but I just can't help being scared of withdrawing cash from a credit card!0 -

Ive stayed at Venetian but not at Wynn......and I would go for Wynn!!! Its only across Sands Avenue (?) from Venetian, so not that much further away from mid-strip, but from what Ive seen, its more upscale and "special" than Venetian......even tho we loved the V.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYFirstly, this forum has been extremely useful, so thanks for all the great advice.
We've been to LV many times staying in a number of hotels. This time we wanted to try the Cosmo.
Just wanted to add some additional positive feedback on the Marriott Pricematch rate related to the Cosmo.
Also used Alpharooms who were quoting £1201 for a 9 night stay in June. Booked with Mariott direct through the website and then raised a price match.
First email refused to uphold on the grounds the claim was not valid for non-us (domestic) hotels! I obviously disputed & received an email back accepting my claim.
Marriott deducted the 12% tax, converted to $$ and divided the Alpharooms price by the number of nights to get an average rate per night. They then compared the average price per night and discounted the Alpharooms rate by 25% for any night where Alpharooms were cheaper.
In the end I got the rate of £1032 which I was very pleased with and I'm glad I persisted with the claim.
Additionally, pleased to add that although my booking did not include the free breakfast package I mailed the Cosmo direct and they've added it to my package.0
