I have joined Noddle, but they won't let me in yet! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr :mad:
Aw they will, it took 2-3 weeks for me and I had a tizzy that they might charge my card but they didn't :)

I'm currently surfing for flights to New Brunswick, Canada. Any ex-pat canadians know which site is best to look for flights?

Hello all, A fleeting visit from me today, lots of work lined up -I finally won a project on Freelancer, yay!

rdchick, Am I right in thinking your OD is with Halifax? Mine was to, but I've now cut my loses and set up another basic account, sent all my DD's over and negotiated paying back the OD at a smaller amount a month til its paid off. No monthly charges and my money is mine (not being paid to a black hole I can never get to!) I wrote a letter and had it all sorted within a few weeks :)

Well I finally told my mum about my debt (I say mine as my OH had nothing to do with the CC's etc.) I softened the blow by first admitting that the figure was nearly £40k but I've managed to get it down to £12k. I was ready for the onslaught of why, what on earth, etc. But it never came and I have to say I'm so relieved. I think she was a little upset I hadn't told her earlier tbh, shes a total whizz on budgets and saving and probably could of helped me with her knowledge before now.
The outcome is that she has offered to have DS another day a week to save me on nursery fees until he gets his free place next year and I can do some overtime. :j

A few payments since my last update making my running total... #064 £386.57/£13,210.36

No nearer with the BC mini challenge of under £1850 but DD is next week and payday the 25th so I'm hoping to sneak in at the last minute :D

    Have a great day :)

Update on both my cc and my weight loss - although I know it is too late since the deadline was Monday but it will keep me on tracks to write all down. So weight loss first : 2lbs This is better than WW as it costs nothing! :T:T

And cc is another £20 (although infuriatingly I have done about a 3rd of what I had planned on my second job so only a 3rd of the possible payment! That's a total of:
    # 135 - £258.02/ 1786.19 (14.44%)
    LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

    Hi Posh!

OMG! That sounds awesome, I am indeed with Halifax and I do have a basic account with Santander so I could totally do that, how does it work?! Do they just close your account down and then you can pay into it? Will it affect your credit badly (not because I want more credit but want to get into the RAF with a good chance of passing the credit check!) What should I write in the letter?!

That would be amazing if I could do it! xxx

    Hello!

Well I wrote telling them that I was wanting to deal with the debt but I wasn't in a position to pay in much more than the £30 fees a month, therefore the debt would take me an age to get rid of.

I did fill in an income form (but actually forgot to enclose!) but as I had other creditors I worked out a pro rata payment and they accepted it straight away, no hassles. The account is actually still there as normal, and my payments just go in to reduce the OD every month. The account isn't in use. (although it does say available funds £xx online) They are strict with payments though, I was told if I were to set up a dd/miss a payment I'd be taken off the plan straight away. I don't know about the credit rating tbh, but I knew mine wasn't great and it wasn't going to get better with that debt hanging over me with no end in sight. After setting it all up via letter I had to change my payment day on the phone - they were very accommodating I have to say. Good luck! :)
