Hey Catmort, I think it will go to pay for my car expenses that I've just paid for this weekend (£453) plus my car insurance in August (£600 ish) and the rest off my debts...

It has been a bit touch and go as to whether I would hit my DFD of Xmas 12 but this will definitely put me firmly back inline to achieving my goal!!!

Jemma, you only get back the tax you paid, so on £100 you get something like £20 back so please don't spend it until it's in your pocket. I thought I was due a big payment when I put in a claim about a year ago, but was disappointed that it wasn't as much as I thought it was going to be.

Cat, I think I need to do something like that too, I just get confused as I put things down and then have to pay them straight away so the envelope is empty again :(

At least you know where the money's gone tho, & adding your salary then goes automatically to the right places. I put all my irregular envelopes in my savings account and keep what's left of the monthly in my current account, then make transfers as necessary when I spend. You do end up with empty envelopes tho. Isn't it the same as your pots spreadsheet anyway? You can stick to that if it's easier for you!

The problem with my pots spreadsheet is that I end up removing my money from the pots and spending it :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Hi all, haven't been around much (long story but had some health problems with DS, in part due to our budget and his diet so I was a bit ashamed and the weekly budget has increased again to reflect more meat, wholewheat stuff etc) but here is our latest total: #084 £5645 paid of £58000.

Not as much as I would have hoped but everything is now at 0% except one card at 2.9% and one at 6.9%, both for the life of the balance. I did a snowball last night and we should be debt free by feb 2014 according to that but I'm still hoping for Xmas 2012!! Snowballing like CRAZY! Next month we can overpay by about £3k and the same in May so that already brings us down a lot and closer to the goal.

    Keep it up everyone!

Wow Jemma - you either do a LOT of miles or your employer pays a very poor mileage rate! How many years does that cover - I think you can go back 6 years if you have the records.
