  • Arrived home to a huge bill from the solicitors saying we need to pay the whole of this years maintenance fees in one go. Over £700 :( not happy. Good thing we went for Tesco furniture and not the nicer stuff I was looking at. We should be able to afford it but I'll need some serious money jiggling.

Sitting in the dentists now waiting for my X-rays to develop. I better not need fillings. Can't really afford after that bill.

All done! Some messy numbers there though so maybe I will look at another little payment!

    :( Trying hard...failing miserably :(
  • And of course I need a filling :( Good news is it meant I didn't hae to pay today, bad news it means I have to pay £47 on April 20th (or £75 to get a white one and it's possibly noticeable, don't know what to do, I have enough self esteem issues about my appearance as it is, just hoping this doesn't trigger another bout of my body dysmorphia I had one a few weeks ago and it was awful)

Ah well, pan of chilli cooking on the stove for when OH gets in from work. Its after 7 now so I might give my Mam a ring.

Hey everyone, blimey I've only just got in! I went straight from work to pick up my mum and grandma and we went for a walk then to The Harvester for a scrummy meal. I'm off walking up a ruddy mountain after work (ok slight exaggeration here - it's a big hill with a tower on it!) tomorrow so won't be back until late then either. Every night this week I've got in late so apologies for not updating for a little while, I'll do it now!

Karenann - Hope your ears were burning last night. Never got to ikea but husband understood what I was saying about the pax system so need to get up and see they system.

Just changed my tariff on the gas and elec. Will long term save me around £350.00. why I didn't do this sooner I have no idea! Went to the garden centre and had an over the moon kid last night. Ok I admit I had a splurge but little was so happy. Now just have to deweed the veg boxes and hanging baskets!

Quick update: No 149 Total paid off is £7,427.80 Total paid off is 52.09%

Wow you're on fire girl!!! :T:T:T
Unfortunately, I've come to the decision that I think I have no choice but to leave work. It would be very stupid financially to hold out and hold out until the doctors fix me (someone recommend aloe vera drops yesterday, apparently they work wonders?) and then I still can't fly. So, I'm going into work tomorrow to tell them :( Have to send my cv today to a recruitment company who have been expecting it since Thursday last week!

    Very very scared :(

How did it go telling them hun? :A

I really hoped it was an ear infection and that it would go away of its own accord, but though the Dr thinks it IS an infection its decided its not going anywhere and she couldnt really tell because of (her words) 'all the wax :o'. Which I know is gross, but everytime I try to clean them I get . . . . chronic earache, and when I told her this she said 'well the ear, nose and throat people say dont stick anything smaller than your own elbow in your ear as you can cause major damage'. So its olive oil in the ear tomorrow and leave it alone.

She has given me antibiotics though and if it doesnt start clearing in a few days its back to see her again as its more likely to be an infection of the bone rather than of the ear

Ah ty, hopefully it will bu**er off now I have the antibiotics, unfortunately (for them) the Jahovahs witnesses decided to knock my door this morning, normally im polite and decine their leaflet with a 'no thank you, im not religious' but after a week of broken sleep and pain, they got a short 'no, bu**er off' and a door in their faces :o. Word to the wise people, jakesmum does not do well with no sleep :o

How are your ears now hun? xxx

Have to present work to 3 directors of 2 companies this week, number one being this morning, so nervous. This will be the only time I have my manager there for support, the other two times I'm on my own.

oooh how did your first one go??? xxx

Morning all! My money this month has been as follows:

Paid out (stupid car) - £500
Paid out (stupid ex boyf) - £400

    So total debt = £3895 (original) + £900 = £4795

However, this month I am be making a massive payment of £775 (half my take-home pay), so I've paid off a total of £2015 so far. So my update please Jemma:

    011 antonia1 £1,970 / £4,795 41.08%

So all of that doesn't actually seem as bad as I first thought. The car was scrapped yesterday, the tax disc has been returned and I cancelled my car insurance. So I am awaiting cheques for £155, £70 and £330 respectively. Which will all go straight off my debt, and covers what the car cost me when it broke!

I've taken out my spending money for the month, split it into 5 envelopes and I'm going to be very good at sticking to my budget, as I desperately want to reach the 50% mark as soon as possible.

You've still got a fantastic paid off total hun despite the really horrible setbacks. I'm so sorry it hasn't worked out with the ex-boyf and even worse, that it's affected your total. You'll get there hun xxx
    Afternoon all.

Well, I'm bowing out of the challenge. Multiple imminent, large expenses on my existing car have meant keeping it is an exercise in idiocy, so I've taken the plunge and bought another. It's under warranty and comes with a service pack, so the stability of it means I can plan for the future far better.

I now won't be able to be debt free by Christmas. I will, however, be in a FAR FAR better position financially than I was in October when I first decided to take action.

So thanks guys, I'm still taking action on my debt and will continue to drive toward that magical DFD. So long, and thanks for all the fish. ;)

Well I'm sorry to see you go, wish you all the best and you'll always be welcome back at anytime! xxx

Grrr it just wont decide what its doing :( It hurts, I take the antibiotics and 2 hrs later they are ok enough to touch, then try to go to bed and its like a ring of pain round the outside of my ear :(

THough what annoys me the most, is not the pain, or the feeling my ear is full of liquid, its the fact its my left ear and thats the side I sleep on so im trying to sleep the other way which is not going well :rotfl:. DH keeps beng woken up to 'owwwwwww oh !!!!!!!' as im rolling over in my sleep :rotfl:
