Hi all
It's been a while since I've updated my totals and I wish it was because I was concentrating on paying stuff off! In all honesty I've been really awful the past few months with a family wedding and various stupid spends BUT I'm back on the right frame of mind now and today is pay day :j:j
I've caught up on some of the posts so well done to everyone who has been working hard on their debts and HUGE hugs to those who need them right now, I hope everything gets better for you all!
My new totals (which includes this months interest added to keep me right!) is:
#054 £4,241.77/ £10,678.72
Woohoo! Off to update my signature now!

Hi Debt-Free-Dave - welcome to the board!! I think from your signature that you have put the amount left rather than the amount you have paid - that's what Jemma needs to see. Unless you are nearly there already?
You can edit your post very easily if you have it the wrong way around:xmastree:POMDB Xmas 2013 Board - Paid off £12k in 2012 :j:j :xmastree:

Thanks! I feel the same - the mountain is huge and it is really difficult. I took some drastic steps and got a second job so I can add more money in, it's really tiring but if I can just last until October I think I can pay this lot off.
I think the biggest tip I can think of which worked for me is to keep reminding myself why I am doing this. I need to be free of debt, I want a life where I can say - I bought XX through saving hard rather than on the credit card! A lot of the debt is from when I was married so I have it in my head that once I pay the debt I can move on!
I also work out each month what needs to be paid and what is left over I take a minimum spend amount and everything else goes into the debt
Good luck and stay with it - just keep imagining how good it will feel to say 'I'm debt free!'

Hi everybody,
I've finally been able to make an additional payment. This month I changed the account that I'm banking the money for BoM&D into as it is easier to get to but at this bank I'm restricted to the number of withdrawals and transfers I can do. So I made the decision to bank any leftover/spare cash and then just transfer it once a month. So with my payment to the BoM&D this month my total is now:
# 65 2108.51 / 12471.68 = 17%0 -
I'm getting sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo BORED waiting for payday now! 2 days to go though :rotfl:
To make myself better I added £8 to my change jarsIn debt no more!0 -
Payday tomorrow
Still haven't had council tax bill, might chase them as I want the DD set up for the new year, I don't want to start out in arrears.
Have to present work to 3 directors of 2 companies this week, number one being this morning, so nervous. This will be the only time I have my manager there for support, the other two times I'm on my own.
Still haven't ordered a wardrobe *whoops* although we did talk about it.
Slow cooker sausages and kidney beans were a success though, making chilli for tea for us tonight. Need to see if I can find some plastic boxes here at work to take home for batch cooking.
oh and I paid the Mortgage fee yesterday, so that's the last of my things I definitely needed to pay for off the list, and OH has said he wants to pay me half back of all the fees over time so more in my savings hopefully. not sure he realises quite how much I've paid mind.HSBC CC - £3000 / £3000
Halifax CC - £1032.77 / £1032.77
Mortgage currently at [STRIKE]£82,299.71[/STRIKE] £76,017.62 would love to overpay0
