Maybe if I say it quickly it won't come out as badly, so here goes (gulp). I have been meaning to take the children skiing ever since moving here four years ago and I got the sudden urge to take them up the mountains :snow_laug 30 minutes out of the city last Friday and I put a lot of money (hundreds) on my cc to pay for the bus up there (you need chains on your car tyres in the mountains here-too pricy), picnic, a beginners lesson for all of them, a day's lift pass, ski hire and a rented ski jacket for one of the children, who managed to get out of the house with just a jumper on - Brrr! We had a GREAT time. The lesson gave the kids the basics and they just went up and down the slopes all day, even though the snowflakes were falling down around them, they didn't once complain of feeling cold or tired. We had to race back to the bus stop to get back to the noisy, green city so that I could do an overtime night shift - had to find someway to start paying this back! Even though I can't afford to pay much of my debt back this week, it has fed the spendy gremlin inside of me; now I will knuckle down and be good again. There endeth my confession...:D
I can't wait to start having more fun and more adventures after the debts are paid back at Christmas time! :lovethougWhat will you treat yourself to in January '13???

Bloomin kids and their expense  Miss Lily is now begging me to let her sleep in her new shoes  Now I KNOW that this is her dads genes as its a family story about when he was a child everytime he got new shoes he would sleep in them for 2 weeks so that no-one would nick them :rotfl::rotfl:
Jake also needs a haircut tomorrow, if I dont take him soon i'll be able to turn him upside down and use him as a bog brush . . . hmm on second thoughts  :rotfl:
Im not looking forward to september as Jake starts secondary school and Lily starts primary school so Ive got 2 uniforms, 2 sets of proper school shoes, football boots and trainers for Jake, school gym kit for Jake and new school bags for both :eek:

Mine don't do the really expensive trips in secondary. DS1 is going for a one day (two night drives) trip to Paris which is £90, but he's paying for it out of birthday money. The primary trips were bad enough, £150 in Yr 4 for 2 nights in yorkshire, £250 for 3 nights in the Lake district in Yr 5 and £390 for 4 nights in France in Yr 6.
Uniforms aren't too hideous really, With DS1 we bought ALL the recommended stuff on the list, most of which he's never worn, so for DS2 we won't buy most of it. Blazers are £40 which is the most expensive bit. We got £100 in M&S vouchers a few months ago from Sky, which I'm saving for uniforms this summer -trousers, shirts etc.Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -
I try to send him (well both of them it will be ) on as many of the trips as I can, but drew the line when he came home with a letter for an overnight stay at the local nature reserve . . . £260!! . . its 30 mins away from where we live!! I dont know how many actually went but there was alot of grumbling about paying for them to stay overnight when it was so close to where we live, I said not a chance, I could take him myself for the cost of half a tank of fuel
I have heard that the last year of secondary school they get offered a trip to Australia for the princly sum of £2k. He's already been told absolutely not, I could take us all for that as we have family who live out there. Plus he's been twice and Miss Lily has never been and is not likely too eitherSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
Guys....you've already convinced me that parenthood isn't for me! I can't afford to take myself on holiday, let alone sending some freeloading teenagers!
Well, maybe I'm joking but I don't think its a problem I'm ever likely to face...
Not really spent much of my monthly budget this month, so will hopefully have something left over when it comes to payday in a fortnight or so.DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

Think I've done really well this weekend for spending - got loads of goodies in for today's Lord of the Rings fest, so my total spend for the weekend is £13.07 - very happy with that!0 -

If there wasn't rugby on this afternoon I'd join you for that, I wonder if I could afford a flagon or two from the Green Dragon though.DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!
