Cat, don't envy you or your sister. We had a stress when we did our wedding as we regard so many of friends as family.

It was chaos to organise and appease everyone. Dare I ask who is on the top table!

Kerri sounds like your first day went well. Hurray!

Listening to my husband tonight and despite me nagging him about debt he's just had his light built moment!

Have to admit its quite funny hearing it on the other side. Seeing as I've being trying for nearly 4 months for him to realise how much costs just to live and payoff debts! Now he's moaning his debt payments are more then the mortgage, and how rich we will be when kid can get himself home after school without childcare!

Right need to buckle down and get some paperwork done, going to be a busy day so I will put tomorrow payment on now as it's all set to rock and roll.

No 149 - £20.30 thrown onto my debt. Total paid off is now £5,108.99 total paid is now 35.83%

Slightly panicked as thats a lot paid off and now worried whats round the corner. Though it'll be harder with the new tax year!

Kid's been at the farm with mother in law (before you all go awe, its a caravan on a lot of land near a motorway with a lot of animals.)

She fed him so was extra grateful of the long life date I got on my food had his instead of going to waste! Must have this mindset more often!

    Well done nct.

Don't worry about the % as Jemma can calculate this for you. Unless you are a sad sack like me and has an excel sheet that works it all out!

Well done and keep up the good work

Thank you - and yes I have a spreadsheet too!!:rotfl:

My sister is having her 30th birthday party on Friday at some swanky London club with an expensive menu which I'm going to be forced to eat from PLUS I just found out there is a 'music charge' too. And because so many people are coming she is relegating me to the second table. Her hubby just sent an email saying 'thanks for being understanding', well I'm not! I don't want to go! But I can't really tell her that...especially since it's her 30th! But she's forcing me into spending loads of money! What do you guys think I should do?

I think I'd have to tell her I couldnt afford it - maybe dont bring the 2nd table thing into it if you dont want to seem if thats the reason. I had to tell my sister in law that I couldnt go on her hen do weekend, which was really hard, but it was over £300 just for the accomodation and I knew her and her posh friends would be downing champagne. It caused a bit of coolness but I knew I would have been miserable if I'd spent the money and I would have resented her, which isnt fair either.

    Good luck either way

Oh that was just today, tomorrow I'm working from home, Wednesday I've a 20min train to the London office, thurs-fri working from home, monday a 1.5hr drive to reading...etc etc... sometimes I'll be working away for a few nights, sometimes a big long drive. I'm really looking forward to getting back out on the road again though, I'm not built mentally for staying in one place too long I like to flit about :)

It sounds more like a wedding than a 30th party! Top table? !!!!!!? A music charge? Erm.... sorry I'm washing my hair that night.

Seriously though, I don't envy you working this situation out. I don't really have any advice.... it's easy to say don't go but then it's hard to live with the potential fall out. Could you suggest you two do something else another day, just the two of you?

I've just been to the cinema and people are so rude nowadays, it really annoyed me. This kid two seats down from me was texting on his phone every two minutes even after the film started so eventually I leant across and told him politely to stop playing on his phone as it's REALLY annoying... then at the end of the film, while the credits are running, it's still part of the storyline but this woman two rows in front decides to stand up and take ages to put her coat on.... no-one behind her can see! I half-whispered 'sit down' and she sort of tried to move but still didn't get out of the way. But the Muppets was a good movie apart from all that!! :D
