As for dating sites, my brother met his now wife on there (they even had mutual friends just never knew each other!) and my BF's bro met his girlfriend on there and they have been together 3 years so I am a firm believer of online dating!
I met my Hubby through a dating site after meeting a few frogs first. Been together 9 years now
VW campervan mum - we've decided we're going to have to stay put and make the house how we want it. Unfortunately we can't afford to do it up yet so I know where you're coming from. Maybe you could do DD's room cheaply or maybe a lick of paint or new duvet set just for now?0 -

Just rang Halifax to see how much I would need to pay back from my loan. Turns out if I paid them back in the next 30 days I would need to pay £3494.10 - £5.90 less that what I originally borrowed. That seems like a heck of an amount... and killer interest. I wish I was on this site like I am now back in 2010. I would never have done it

Hi all
Although I have been on a DMP for 5 years to the month, I was having a bit of a down moment last night. As you can see from my signature I have paid off quite a bit but there are some days when it still feels like the lights is a looong way down the tunnel.
So I found myself at 1.30 this morning at a bit of a loss...then I found this thread. 2 1/2 hours later I had worked my way through the entire thread, all 150 odd pages and read most of the replies. And all I can say is thank you...it changed my mindset, my attitude and my belief in myself. Though I am proud of how much I have paid off, sometimes I get stuck with how much is left.
I tried not to laugh out loud too much as it was the early hours but I could relate to so many of the topics on here. (35, female and single = apparently spinster for ever more with no hope)
Being on a DMP means I don't have a lot of money spare to throw at reducing the debt so any ideas welcome please.
I also need to lose weight. I can't afford a slimming club but like the idea of the discipline of weigh in so Boots machine it will be on a weekly basis.
I'll have a think about numbers and post again. Just wanted to pop on to say thank you and I look forward to many more inspiring posts.

1st debt to tackle - store card £216.700 -
:wave:Welcome Jubilee, Jemma will give you a number soon.
If you have any items you don't use/need, fleabay is a good way of make money (sometimes).
I use myfitnesspal online (it's free) to log my food and exercise, cheaper than a slimming club.
Can't believe you read all 150 pages in one session  you're clearly mad enough to join us all on here :rotfl:0 -
Welcome Jubilee :wave:In debt no more!0
-
Yep Jubilee you can join us!
We're all a bit mad here! Myfitnesspal is brilliant, don't bother with Boots, it's exactly same but FREE!!!
150 pages in a night is HARDCORE!!

I just want to say well done. And everything is possible, the impossible... just takes a little longer.
With regards to fitness i would suggest scheduling in a jog twice a week. Don't have to run really fast or go really far, just take it at a faster than walking pase and u'll be fine. Also, don't eat crap and drink plenty of water. Follow that advice and also take photos once a week to keep progress (just like ur finances) and you'll go far!!I'm so poor I can't even pay attention.

Welcome to my world just posted this in someone else comments section
"I spent, then got one loan, then kept spending. My credit then go shot. I ended up taking out a loan with a subprime leander with a starting balance of £5,813 at 60 payments of £233.14.
Total amount to repay is £13,988.40!
Meaning just on interest alone I will overpay the loan by £8175.40.
I'm now 28 payments in and its one of the worse things I have every done but its what I needed to make me have my LBM.
Just as reference the apr is around the 29.9% marker."
The current balance is at the 5k mark! Ouch!0
