  • Good luck for tomorrow Kerri :D

I haven't been on for a while, although I've been keeping an eye on you all ! Everyone seems to be going great guns at getting rid of their debt
OH hasn't got much work at the mo, down to £60 a week:eek: so haven't been able to pay anything off debt, fleabay sale monies have gone into current acct so that we can eat. Hopefully things will pick up soon, he's pricing for a job on Tuesday so fingers crossed.

  • Wouldn't it get really confusing though? You haven't been charged the interest on what you have paid? So while you are saving yourself money on interest, and your paid off total doesn't go up, your debt is still reducing?

For me, I'm not going to be able to pay all my debt off this year, so instead of taking off the total amount of debt I'd add it to the amount paid so far.

So I shall now be setting the weekly mini challenge on a Sunday :)

The coming weeks mini challenge: Grow something
Ok so we all need to be eating healthier and learning to be more frugal. The best way of doing this is to grow our own food, whether it's planting onions/galic, or bringing on some little seedlings or even cress, or buying a pot of basil/rosemary. So grab yourself a pot and some dirt, plant some seeds (or buy a ready built plant), and grow your own.

The easiest way to do this would be to buy a ready grown herb plant that you can keep on your window sill in the kitchen or bathroom by the window. Although I've heard that SM ones aren't very good and die quickly.

Then when you've got your plant, throw some of the fresh leaves (if it's herbs) into your cooking and see what a difference fresh ingredients make. I can already smell the gorgeous basil smell of a rubbed leaf mmm, so much better than dried.

Oooh, I already grow my own herbs and have wasted much money on veg before - my garden seems to poison plants - even in containers  But you have just reminded me that I'm meant to be planting some sweet peas - I want them for my wedding and the florist isn't sure whether she'll be able to get them. Decided to take matters into my own hands and save a few pennies too

Interest isn't included in my total amount though, so what I've paid so far and what I've paid off my debt would be two different figures... why isn't there a confused smiley?!
