Any ideas for low fat low carb lunches?

Myself I tend to get abag or two of salad for the week and mix out up with some oily fish like mackerel or sardines or even seafood. Snack wise things like walnuts are good

    Morning all!

Sorry I've been absent for so long, it has taken me nearly a day to catch up on the chat!

Had a mixed weekend debt-wise. I drove up to Middlesbrough on Friday afternoon and the boy drove from there to Edinburgh. The actual weekend itself was quite cheap cos the boy wouldn't let me pay for anything. I ended up keeping cash in my pockets so that when we were at the bar I could pay before he got his wallet out, but he caught on to that trick pretty quickly. Then he drove back to Middlesbrough on Sunday afternoon and I was supposed to be going straight home. But ended up in the pub watching more rugby so I stayed at his.

Up at 6 on Monday morning to drive back in time for work and and realised I'd left my car keys at my aunts house in Edinburgh :wall:. So we both had to take the day off work to drive up to Edinburgh to get the keys. Then got back to Middlesbrough to find the car had a flat tyre cos I'd parked it funny :wall:. We went to put air in it and he said it was really bald and I need a new tyre :wall:. Not sure how much the tyre cost, but made him promise to let me pay for it.

On the plus side, he did get on really well with my family and they all like him too. Shame his mother wasn't very impressed with me (tho he reckons she's always like that when she's drunk).

Gah... my attempt to save the £100's I spend on shampoo & conditioner has gone a bit wonky.... I used bicarb and juiced a lemon last night... I think the bicarb worked fine other than I can taste it in my nose all of today... The lemon however I was a bit of a dunce and didn't sieve so I'm finding lemon pulp in my hair today OOPS! It has definitely cleaned my hair though :)

That seems like a rather extreme way of washing your hair Kerri! What is it meant to do to it?! xx

Does that mean that you smell like the original source lemon shower gel? I always think these smell like wine gums...

I'm fed up of my hair getting really greasy because I'm effectively putting perfumed degreaser on it, which is actually not very good for it. I was meant to use just lemon juice, not the pulp oops. Lemon juice smooths the cuticles, you can use apple cider vinegar instead too. Works exactly the same as conditioner but better for your hair and the environment :)

Doesn't smell of anything once it's washed out.

I got in a right mess with my spreadsheet and turns out I'd paid freemans less than I thought... not sure where I've gone wrong. Anyway update from me thanks to a few fleabay sales of £7.64, putting me at nearly 36% paid off yippee

My sortofmum is not fussy and gets on with anyone so her and MrS get on fine.

His mum however, is of the school that no-one is good enough for her children. Which is a tough mark to live up to! I'm lucky in that I dealt with MrS's emergency dash after his op really well and his mum was super impressed me with.

So, all you need is to make him have some kind of emergency where you can step up and sort it all out :rotfl::rotfl: I wouldn't recommend a 2am haemmorage (sp?) though!

On a serious note, I know how hard it is but the fact is he likes you and she will have to deal with it regardless of her own thoughts. It's not that you aren't good enough for him, just that no-one would ever be good enough! She will come round soon enough. :A

Check out the OS boards, they are filled with ideas but they'll probably suggest bicarb and apple cider vinegar :) with maybe an olive oil conditioner every now and then. But definitely to stop using shampoo/conditioner with SLS or silicons in.

antonia sorry to hear you didn't get on with his mother :( great he gets on with yours though :) My OH's mother, although seems to like me, will every now and then say something which puts me right on edge again and we've been together 18months almost.
