If there's anyone reading that's had payday loans then please don't feel like you're on your own and swamped. I took out my first payday loan in August 2008 and finally kicked it October 2011. Over that time I paid over £2k in interest, I can't find half the emails to tell me how much I've paid so I'm sure it's quite a lot more. I got myself completely stuck and snowed under with them, getting higher and higher ones to cover bills/rent/etc. The only way I could beat them was by calling up each month and arranging to pay off a higher amount than the minimum/deferral amount. If you overpay them you will beat them and we're here to support you all the way to the deft free finish line. They better be ready for us on the honours thread in December.

I'm feeling a bit down as I haven't had a very MSE January and there's not going to be anything left at the end of this month for me to pay in. Part of me wants to pay off a big amount as soon as I get paid but then what if I can't make it to the next payday? I'm going on holiday for 5 days next week, although I've already got my currency for it and I'm determined not to go over the amount I bought, so I've already paid for that. I also bought a laptop in January, convincing myself I needed it for work (I work in IT and couldn't run the software I needed properly on my old laptop)

Hopefully I will resist more spending temptation in February and be able to pay off some at the end of Feb, but it seems so far away! At least it's a short month :D

Just got back from an hours walk with my mum so am very cold and my legs are aching (I live in the hills so there's no avoiding them!)

Going to try and do my updating now but if I run out of time then I'll finish it off tomorrow.

Don't feel bad it's a looooong month! Have you set yourself aside budgets for everything? There's the grocery challenge, weekly spend challenge, and others if you need encouragement, they've certainly helped me :)
