My legs are really achy today :-( and I'm feeling the pains of a late night in drinking. Defo pizza for tea I've not had takeaway for weeks.

Jemma someone on the second purse challenge got blue dragon sweet and sour 3 for £1 but didn't say where from, maybe lido? But well done on stocking up :-) i need to do a lot more when I get paid. Right off to decide on pizza mmmm

The blue dragon sachets are all 29p each from Tesc0s but the offer runs our tomorrow 23/01/12. Same for the Belvita biscuits at £1.14 (half price) and I think maybe the Tesc0 fajita meal kits at £1. Think they all end tomorrow...

My sister actually asked me if I was stockpiling in case the world ended in December but we somehow managed to survive! :rotfl:

Right, I need to get ready for going out for tea again tonight, I need to see if I can print out that bloomin voucher off as neither of our printers will work as for some reason we only have about 20 yellow ink cartridges!!! Looks like someone's been stockpiling them... :rotfl:

Thank you mf0u1098 for updating the front page and keeping us all motivated :D

I am still here, making small steps but not able to actually pay anything until my long-awaited pay day rolls around.

    Small steps have included:
    • Actually putting in the expenses for my volunteer work - awaiting £120
    • Completing expenses for work from December! - £150 (cheque received waiting for it to clear - then it going straight to the ghastly Vanquis debt!)
    • Not going out last night, saved at least £40 - OH tried to lend it to me but I refused because it is all good and well borrowing it but it is really the future me I am lending from and she really needs the money! :rotfl:
    I still have to:
    • Send my old iphone to Maz*ma - £60
    • Apply for TV Licence refund - £60
    • Fleabay SOOOO much stuff!
I just can't seem to get motivated to do these things - I never have any free time and when I do I like to chill :o:o (lazy!)

However, on the plus side of things - I am nearing the end of January and for the first time EVER I still have money left, not lots but SOME :T I am quite proud of my budgeting skills... Also, the OH is taking me out for a meal tonight (with a voucher) so am really looking forward to that!

Hope you all have great evenings :D

    Kat xxx

    Hi Kat,

as far as I know the TV licencing authority only give refunds to the nearest next quarter, if you're aware of this then I would implore you do it now before you miss the quarter deadline. If you're unaware of this then double check as it may be that you don't need to do it just yet.

Hope tomorrow goes well, I remember how scared I was going back after having the kids, in case everything had changed, or I'd forgotten it all! After five minutes I quickly realised nothing had changed at all really and I remembered so much more than I thought I would have (and I'd had TEN YEARS off! )

    Hi recurrent-ostrich,

Thanks for this message to rosiest as it's made me feel so much better. I've been unemployed since the end of Sept and because of where I live I'm very restricted to the number of jobs that become available, and the ones I have applied for I haven't even had an interview for (which is a tad demoralising). So last night I bit the bullet and decided that I would concentrate on getting back into the career I had when I lived in the UK, which will require me to start studying again to update my CPD (continued professional developement) and also to 'refresh' myself. I was concerned that everything would have changed but you've helped me to put it into perspective - I've had a 3 year break and I've changed countries - how bad can it be? :o ( I know this smilie is for being 'embarrassed', but I think it looks more 'unsure')

Ok stupid question... when do the quarters start and end? Is it 1-3, 4-6 etc?

Also, how do you work out how much you can get back? I'm moving out beginning of April, licence valid til June... thanks!

£17 on pizza not debt repayment, because drinking last night led me to forget about the slow cooker stuff, which I'll feed to the dogs instead ;-)
No more pizza for a few weeks now, not good for the hips

Glad it was helpful and i'd say "go for it". I applied for loads of different jobs when decided to go back to work after the kids, when I didn't even get an interview for a crappy little receptionist job at a builders merchant up the road on minimum wage I decided I'd have to bite the bullet and do a return to practice nursing course. I'm so glad I did, I've been back three years now and it was the best thing I did. And patients are the same wherever you go, they are still scared and confused and need caring for whether it's 1989 or 2012. After doing that course I got the studying bug so I'm now on a secondment training course for a more senior role doing my degree. I'd have never got that working on a reception desk!
