Just a little payment today . I won't be able to over pay much this month, just had to pay £350 for someone to assess my little boy for dyslexia. After two years of fighting the school and pleading for help they are still dragging their heels with the usual excuses 'we don't like to label' 'boys are slower' etc etc. So after another night of him crying that he is stupid and why is he still on baby books etc etc, I have booked him to see a specialist.
Sorry little rant there, it just slipped out.0 -

Hi all,
I can't keep up with this thread! I wish I had the time but with one pc and OH, daughter Lily (9) and Zac (2) always hanging around I can never seem to get on for more than 5 mins. I usually read all the posts though on my iphone but trying to type into a box the size of a postage stamp is no fun :rotfl:
So hence I've decided to come and update every Wednesday when I have the house to myself for a whole day - bliss!
Sooo to report on my money saving this week:
Stocking up on loads of bargains in Lidls, namely veg in their half price offer and made 2 batches of yummy soup, plus bread & rolls with some yeast from a free sample. Incidentally today is the last day you can pick up 7.5kg of potatoes for £1.99. Very impressed with those, I thought they'd be all manky and tiny but no!
I've a freezer full of stuff to last me Jan and beyond so with any luck just fruit/veg and milk shopping for a good few weeks.
January has been good for moneysaving in some ways but then not so in others. Last week we ate out 3 times - all for birthdays in the family . Thankfully I did have a budget and actually stuck to it each time, but still. One of the meals was only £6 for 3 courses! And with me only drinking coke they sadly didnt make much money out of me that night :rotfl:
Only one pos two planned outings for Feb, which wont cost very much - most of my friends are feeling the pinch too and we've been having free coffee'n'gossip mornings instead of nights out.
eBay has been good although I'm running out of stuff now to sell until I get up in the attic (its a total mess but I know there's loads up there that needs to go so its just having a spare day with OH to get it sorted). I was saving baby bits for my cousin who is expecting in May but we have just found out its twin girls!! So the boy stuff I've been putting by can go on there (did put it in the attic somewhere cant remember where).
Swagbucks and OnePoll all ticking along nicely although I'm still waiting for my 1st SB Amazon gift code to arrive from the 6th Jan, do they normally take this long? I know I have verified them so that cant be the hold up.. I was going to save up and get a cheap laptop, but it might take me a while. Does anyone know if they have an expiry date or if you can use more than one code per order?
Today I've spent a good hour brushing up on my spreadsheet skills and reformatting my budget so it will add up for me - yay! Sooo much easier now and shouldn't be such a hassle every month to tweak.
I haven't paid off as much of my debt as I'd of liked so far this month but still been swiping any spare change and rounding off when I can. I can't stand to see 2p here and 33p there, has to be whole pounds all the way
Running total so far.. #064 £458.30/£13,210.36
Anyway that's enough of boring you all with my meagre offerings, enjoy the rest of the day peeps, i'm staying in the warm having a NSD - its freezing here in sunny (ahem) Eastbourne!

Hi All,
Haven't been on here this week but getting the emails so been catching up on everything that's been going on.
Had a slip up on Saturday and managed to add £19 to my Adsa storecard. I thought it would be a good idea to walk into town and get some healthy food but think I bought too muchOn the plus side with all the 50p ww tins of soup I have in my cupboards I shouldn't need to buy much food for the next couple of weeks. For the last month I've only been allowing myself to spend what I had in my purse on food and although I had the slip up on Saturday think I've been doing well. With the £23 pounds I still have left I'm hoping at the end of the month I can use it to pay back Asda.
Weight loss wise I've joined WW since I hadn't lost anything in the first two weeks of Jan on my own. I'm hoping the fact that in my head I'm competing with other people I should do better.0 -
Does anyone use soapnuts? I've just discovered them on a thread and they sound good. Just wondered if any of you have experience? Might get a sample when I get my next paypal payment.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16
